Car description |
---|
I'm selling my 1973 Jeep CJ5.
This Jeep was built in late 1972 and sold in 1973.
It has a 304 V8 with a 3 speed T-15 transmission,
Dana 30 front axle and a Dana 20 transfer case.
This Jeep is all stock and is 100% rust free, dent free, patch free and bondo free.
When I purchased this Jeep it was "RUST FREE". Well it was rust free because there was no medal to rust,,, ALL BONDO patches with a new paint job covering all.
I contacted Scott Richardson at C&C Equipment, (ccsurplus.com) and ordered a brand new steel "Jeep" tub from him,,, delivered to my shop for less then the price of replacing all the panels this Jeep needed. The body is made by MD Juan.
"We are M.D. Juan, a Filipino company and the pioneer Jeep® restoration parts manufacturer in the world. We aim to be the ultimate source of Jeep® bodies and parts worldwide"
The frame was completely stripped and sent out for media blasting. Proxy primed and painted with Standox paint.
All new brakes, SS brake lines, new leaf springs, shackles, gas tank and gas lines. (etc, etc, etc, etc) the list goes on.
Tires are 700X15 bias ply tires with newly painted original rims.
The Body:
With the body off the chassis, proxy primer was applied to 100% of the body. We painted the body with single stage urethane paint. Once dried, the body was sanded with 800 and 1000 grit paper,,, and re-painted again. ( the paint is flawless).
Assembly: All new body mounts, cables, clutch linkage rubber boots, lights, wipers, brake parts, gauges, heater core, speedometer cables, New seats and a very simple wiring harness was used build by Centrex.
Being a 1973 Jeep that was build in 1972, this engine has no electronic at all, very simple. A perfect 12 fuse harness was used and MORE......
AND if you are wondering where to get 95% of the parts to build a new/old Jeep, you turn two guys, Jeff and Kevin who work for Crown Automotive in CantonMA.
So in a nut shell, I'm selling a new 1973 Jeep CJ5 with a 304 V8, 3 speed with 12,000 miles with a clean Massachusetts title.
It runs and drives, stops and go easily 65 mph down the highway like a new Jeep should. 4wd work perfectly. The engine runs like new. I don't know any history about the engine, but it runs as it should) It does have dual exhaust dumping out before the rear wheels on both sides and a 4 barrel Edelbrock carb and intake.
Note: it does have a complete soft top that goes with the Jeep made by Bestop.
So this Jeep does needs 2 more things,
( I know it always something)
1. It does need a heater control unit. I was unable to find the correct one for this Jeep. ( Heater fan motor works, but no controls)
2. A new owner.
I I'll answer all questions you may have. I hope I have described eeverything to the best I can.
This Jeep is also being sold locally.
Good luck
