Car description

Beautifully restored 1974 Jeep CJ5. Original drivetrain is a 304 V8 with Edelbrock 4 barrel intake and carburetor, mated to a 3 speed standard transmission. Runs great with plenty of power! This was a father & son project that was completed about a year and a half ago. My son grew to 6' 6" and now is too tall to fit in it to drive it comfortably, so we're selling it in hopes of putting the money towards his college education. The fiberglass body was completely removed, the frame was wire brushed, clean and painted with POR 15 black and then recoated with POR frame paint. The drive train was gone through and all seals and U-joints were replaced. The shocks were replaced and a new steering stabilizer was added. Also added were new 2 1/2" lift shackles. Power steering was added, with a brand new steering gear and pump. Also replaced was the old steering column, and a 1976 locking column was added. All new coolant hoses, heater core, switches, relays, and many other parts too numerous to remember were all replaced. All new LED lighting was added, and lamps and bezels as well. New American Racing SS/T wheels and 33x12.50x15 white lettered BF Goodrich All Terrain tires. Custom exhaust was bent and installed, with Cherry Bomb Q mufflers for a sweet mellow sound. The paint was professionally done by the top body shop in Western MA in base coat/clear coat, and the Jeep was re-assembled. All new OEM replacement decals were used under the hood and inside the Jeep, including the emissions decal, timing/spark plug decal, VIN decal, and glove box towing decal. A couple of minor things remain to be completed, like the speedometer cable and back-up lights, but nothing major. This Jeep has received tons of comments and compliments in the couple of shows we've entered, and has received a top 25 trophy in the Tri-State Mopar Show last fall. Many more pictures are available, including the step by step complete restoration. Thank you for looking!
