Car description

1969 JEEP Commando. NO ENGINE, TRANSMISSION OR TRANSFER CASE.
California vehicle with clean title.
Spring over axle suspension with front shackle inversion (needs completing, 85% done). New Alcan rear leaf springs, new Wrangler front leaf springs. Zero mile Dana 60 rear axle with 4:11 gears, Trac-lock locker and new FORD Motorsports 11" disk brakes with integral parking brake. Axle width is 55.5" WMS (same as CJ7 wide track). Axle was professionally narrowed.
Front axle is a Dana 44 from a 1974 Blazer with disk brakes. Professionally narrowed to 56" width (same as wide track CJ7). New, uninstalled 4:11 gears and Track-lock locker. Long side inner axle will have to be made—see Dutchman axles: it's not a big deal. Needs lock out hubs. Both sides have the desirable flat top knuckles. Fox dual remote reservoir shocks.
High steer set up with Saginaw steering box.Tilt and telescope steering column and Borgeson joints, coupler and shaft. Billet aluminum steering wheel with leather wrap.
Frame is solid with surface rust that a wire brush will remove. Motor mounts are in place for a GM LS engine. The mounts correctly position the GM LS in the Commando. (Mounts are tacked in and need finish welding). Gas tank is aluminum and is set up for EFI pump (not included) although it could be used for a carb engine. Holds at least 20 gallons.
Wheels and tires are new (zero miles) ProComp Xtremes. 315X16 (35s). Rims are new 16" with baby moon caps (fronts have cutouts for lock out hubs).
The body is in mostly solid condition except for the floor boards in front of the front seats (usual for the Commandos) and partially under the front seats and in places in the inner rockers (one spot in need of patch on drivers outer rocker). Some people don't like that the Commandos rockers hang down so they cut them off like a CJ: this would make the repairs unnecessary. Regardless, sale includes new, 11 gauge, weld in replacement floor boards that go from the fire wall extension all the way to the rear bed riser (which is solid). The body mounts under the floors are solid and where the front body mount ties into the fire wall is also solid and needs no repair. Sale includes a pair of new, weld in inner rockers.
The doors are solid, as is the dash, fenders, hood, cowl, etc. The rear tailgate has rust issues in the lower half (very common) but is reparable. Door windows are in good shape and the doors close nicely and the windows all work as they should. The front windshield has a crack.
The top is in overall good condition with all glass in good shape and the rear hatch fully functional and in good shape. There is one spot on the hard top with a quarter size rust hole ( it's the only one of its kind). Aside from very light surface rust in a few areas the rest of the top is in very good, solid condition.
All the seats are original and need to be reupholstered. Sale comes with the OEM shifter and center console.
I have over $1500.00 in the wheels and tires alone. The custom work narrowing the axle housings and the rebuild cost over $1000.00 not including the cost of the axle housings, gears, lockers and other associated parts. The passenger side of the Dana 44 has a new flat knuckle (couple hundred bucks). The differentials have new G2 covers front and rear. I have over $700.00 in the lockers. The high steer set up was over $300.00. It has a new 80s era brake booster and master cylinder.
I can assist with arranging transport through an auto transport broker and loading.
