Car description

For sale is a 1970 Jeep CJ-5 V6 4X4. This classic 4X4 will need some attention as outlined in invoices prepared for the new owner, but if you are a home mechanic this is a great opportunity to own a really nice classic Jeep. This Jeep was purchased from a Dealer in Utah and brought to California a few years ago through a Ebay and it is time to sell. Exterior and interior are clean on this Jeep as you can see by the pictures including wheels/tires, but it will need mechanical work. This Jeep is available for a PPI if you call 415-457-3773 x 224 you can come by and see it for yourself. I also have estimates on some of the repairs needed I am happy to share. It will need some brake work, clutch work etc...to become operable. It currently is not a driver but could be with some minor work. Mileage on this Jeep is showing just over 31,000 but I don't believe that is the accurate mileage on this car it would be much higher due to gauge not working at some time. This Jeep is sold as is, where is, with no warranty stated or implied. Please email me with questions and I can share estimates on repairs needed to get the Jeep in perfect shape, or if you are mechanically inclined, then come have a look. This is a no reserve auction so please have cash in hand if you are bidding. Good luck!

I have added estimate paperwork from a local 4X4 shop from the prior owner. This work was not completed (the $2,679 in parts seems right but labor expense was way too high). This should give you a sense of all the things the shops stated could be worked on. The most important work is brakes and clutch, but work was also done on this jeep to get those pieces addressed. I am not stating that someone at the repair shop was trying to take the owner for excessive money, but several repair shops I have consulted say that labor is high cost is high and much of that work is not necessary, including $2,500 to re-wire the Jeep. If you are a do-it-yourself buyer, then that expense goes away. The V6 I was told is a Buick 225 ci therefore not the original. I will try to get a picture of the motor and some shots from underneath as well. Please call the above number to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle inspected. That is the best way for you to know exactly what it will need to enjoy.

I have added photos of engine bay per many requests. As I stated above, I am not sure if this is the original V6 or not. It does have emblems etc..but one of the mechanics prior owner saw stated it was a Buick 225 cubic inch. For the knowledgeable Jeepster mechanic, I am sure you can tell one way or the other. The Jeep had been running but is not now, possibly from dead battery but again I recommend an inspection in person to ensure you have all the details. 4
