Selling my 1970 Stock Universal CJ - 5 Universal Jeep with Hurricane F4 engine that has 64641 original miles. It needs to be sold to someone that will enjoy it has much as my family has. Many great memories with this classic jeep.
I am the third owner. I purchased the jeep in 2002 with 62800 miles. The jeep has been used strictly as a summer recreational vehicle in a small mountain town - Lake City, CO. The jeep has been kept in a garage and very well maintained. I know the original owner. He assisted me in buying the jeep from the widow of the second owner. The second owner kept the jeep in the same garage in Colorado that I have used to store it all these years. The second owner kept the jeep in excellent condition. I know the history of the jeep extremely well and have many of the maintenance records. The second owner lived in Ft. Worth and would bring the jeep to and from Colorado in the summer by towing it. The original owner explained to me that most of the miles on the odometer were miles from towing the jeep between Ft. Worth and Colorado. The original paint color is teal. There are no rust problems that a new coat of paint will not remedy. The body and frame are in great condition. It starts up easily. The original canvas full top was discarded this year, as it was worn out. I kept the metal door frames if you want them. It needs a new drivers side mirror. The speedometer needle is broken and needs to be replaced. I had the brakes overhauled, the clutch adjusted and the 3 speed transmission is in great condition. It drives straight and has great 4 wheel drive, in both high and low gear gear.
This is a real fun jeep classic that can be driven as is, or reconditioned back to showroom status.
