1979 Jeep Wagoneer Chief
I have owned this vehicle for 14 years. It was completely restored about 16 years ago by the previous owner. I bought it with a bad engine and had it rebuilt, and also had the transmission rebuilt and transfer case rebuilt. Since the engine was rebuilt I put about 20,000 miles on it.
Since the transmission and transfer case were rebuilt the vehicle has only been driven 7,294 miles.
- The interior is out of a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
- Quadratrac 4 WD.
- Radio is upgraded.
- Fuel Gauge does not work - it appears to be a grounding problem but I have not figured it out yet.
- I replaced the electric motor in the tailgate with a reliable crank mechanism.
- There is minor stone chip rust, and behind one rear wheel well there is some bubbling. This was an Arizona Wagoneer at one point.
- There is a dent in tailgate, but it still functions just fine.
- The winch (as pictured) is included.
- Rear air shocks.
- Stored inside.
- Solid condition - would need minor work to make it great.
Tires: I have two sets of tires, both in great shape on mag wheels. Buyer will have a choice of the set of road tires or the set of studded winter tires, not both.
This vehicle is not a show piece, but it is a good, solid vehicle. I have used it on hunting trips and it will go wherever you want to go. A little body work and a new paint job and this Jeep would really turn heads.
