Car description

This is a used and driven 1979 CJ7. It needs some work to get it back to it's once pristine condition. It was purchased by my Father-in-law a few years back and then sold to me. About that same time. my wife and I found out we were having our first child so the Jeep took a back seat. Since we do not have the resources or the time to make it a family beach vehicle. we are putting it up for sale. Our loss is your gain. The Jeep Runs and Drives great. I installed a new Motorcraft Carburetor a year ago. and have had no troubles at all. I have taken it on several longer trips. but have mostly driven it to and from the grocery store. and around town. This is not to say that there are not some issues with the Jeep. The body is in rough shape. and needs some work. As stated above. the floor pans will need replaced and there are some rust issues on the tub. The previous owner attempted some body repairs. and then painted the Jeep black. There are some cracks where the bondo was placed. Additionally. according to the VIN. The jeep was originally a V8. but somewhere along the road was swapped out with a Straight 6. While I have not had any issues. there does seem to be an oil leak (Spots in the driveway). This Jeep was also the Quadratrac version. but I believe that the conversion kit was installed since there are locking hubs. I've had the Jeep stuck once. locked the hubs. and it popped right out. Other than that I have not had the opportunity to take the Jeep anywhere off-road and can not testify to the condition of the 4WD system. The Frame seems to be in pretty decent condition. The PO did box one area. and there are a couple rot spots a the rear. I have tried to photograph any known issues. and give a decent description of the vehicle. I believe this vehicle would make a great project for someone with the know-how. Please take a look at the pictures and ask any questions before bidding. I will answer them as promptly as possible. I will not ship the vehicle. It must be picked up locally. You will need to trailer the vehicle. No warranty stated or implied. and I have describe the vehicle to the best of my knowledge.
