1962 JAGUAR E-TYPE COUPE. SERIES 1, 3.8 LITER. MATCHING NUMBERS. COMPLETE CAR

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very complete and original matching numbers 1962 E-type coupe, LHD Coupe #2371. This exciting discovery was just purchased from an East Coast collector who had it in his collection for years with plans to eventually restore it. There is an attached license plate showing the car lived in Florida with October of 1988 being it's last registration date. It appears that this car was originally finished in Cream with Red trim, a very tasty combination on an early closed car like this one, as evidenced by it's original paint on al of it's panels and existing upholstery. It's a full matching numbers car with matching engine block, cylinder head, picture frame, and body tag all matching the car's original data plate.The body on this car is very decent overall for a restoration candidate. There has been some previous typical sheetmetal repairs here and there. There is a dent on the LH front over-rider area but the rest of the car looks quite decent. There is some rust through on the bonnet's lower support panel and some in the floors. There is some replacement sheetmetal on the driver's side floor. Please view the undercarriage pictures. Most all of the car's chrome and glass is present save for the usual rear window trim which is now available.The car's interior appears very complete. The four-piece aluminum console/dash panels (that are signature to the early cars) are still present but have been covered up with other material. The car still retains it's correct early style 3.8 liter seats along with it's steering wheel, horn push, sun visors, rear view mirror, etc. and a period correct Blaupunkt radio.The correct matching numbers engine turns nicely by hand and may even run with a little work. It's very complete and original including it's early style air cleaner collector and the correct early smooth type oil pan. There's a collection of small parts that are included with the car.Overall, a highly desirable and rare early E-type 3.8 Liter coupe, being produced in only the second year of production. This very original car has never been apart for restoration and has been stored for the last 31 years.
