Custom Built 1969 International Harvester Loadstar CO1800
For Sale by Owner/ Builder
This 1969 International Harvester CO1800 was acquired out of Kansas in 2013 and underwent a subsequent three-year project including installation of a 7.3-liter turbodiesel V8 and automatic transmission, shortening of the frame, and a repaint. Additional work consisted of interior reupholstery in tan leather along with installation of late-model axles, a custom bumper, a wood-slat bed floor, a hydraulic power-tilting cab mechanism, Alcoa wheels, air-ride suspension, an integrated iPad mount, and more. This modified CO1800 is offered with a clean Pennsylvania title. This International has been stored in a heated building during winters, and has never seen rain.

The cab was stripped before being repainted in gray, and a lighter shade off-white. The latter of which matches the fenders and custom front bumper (The paint scheme was inspired from a classic VW microbus). Stained and varnished white oak slats are mounted flush with the bed frame and separated by polished stainless steel runners. Eight-lug Alcoa wheels are mounted with 445/50R-22.5 Michelin “Super Single†tires in the rear. A spare set of rear super-single wheels will also be included in the sale.
This truck is equipped with a hydraulic-tilting cab, (see videos). The cab was fitted with new glass and houses body-colored steel surfaces as well as a split bench seat upholstered in tan leather. Additional exterior details include LED lighting, a custom taillight panel, a receiver hitch, amber clearance lights, and dual exhaust stacks. The suspension features rear airbags and dual pumps, while braking is handled by an air-over-hydraulic system with front and rear discs. The original heater is still equipped. While there is no A/C, the upper grill was designed to provide cabin air flow. Additionally, the door window vents give an ample amount of air circulation. No stereo is installed, but easily could be, and run through the iPad.
The stock gas-powered engine was removed in favor of a 7.3-liter turbodiesel V8 sourced from a 1998 Ford F450 - 210HP, 425 torque (66k miles). Power is routed through an automatic transmission that has been converted with a pushbutton shifter to work with the tilting cab.The frame was shortened by approximately 6′, and later-model International front and rear axles were installed. The fuel tank is 12-14 gallons.
