This is a 1960 International VCO 195 with 7032 actual miles on the odometer. It was a pumper unit for the Chamberlain, outh Dakota Fire Department before being converted to a flat bed truck for parade service. The truck is mechanically sound: The huge 549 V8 purrs and does not smoke. Although I have not driven it over public roads, y experience in driving it around on my property is that It drives, hifts, nd stops as you would expect from a low mileage truck. Recent work includes brakes, aster cylinder, nd electric fuel pump (It rumbles to life at about the third turn of the engine). All the instruments, ights, urn signals, eater, orn and accessories work as original. The glass is like new, indows roll up and down without issues. The original keys operate the ignition and door locks with anauthoritativesnap. The original IH logo side mirrors look like they just came out of a box. Seats are original and in very serviceable condition. The steering wheel, oor panels and instrument panel look great. The headliner and vinyl cab interior insulation is in remarkable condition. The only drawback inside the cab has to do with the doghouse engine cover. Regrettably, he prior owner removed the original covering and glued some truly horrific shag carpeting to the metal surface. I removed this mess about 15 minutes after purchasing the truck, ut the glue residue remains. It needs to be sanded off and the cover painted or to have some kind of an upholstered cover made. I will leave this decision to the next owner. The cab exterior is dent and rust free, ith the exception of the roof. It has some minor dents, s I have tried to show with photos. The spring loaded tilt- cab operates correctly and is easily raised by one person (the trick is to open both doors)! The tires and rims are in good conditio, ith plenty of tread and no significant rust or dry rot. The truck features a 14.6 X 7.9 bed. The oak boards are very solid, ut could use paint for cosmetic purposes. The steel headache rack is overbuilt and impressive. The parking brake is not currently hooked up, nd the rear tail lights are modern and do not fit the truck's character. They are not hooked up and I have been looking for some original application type ones. The frame is massive, traight, nd rust free. It seems that the prior owner could not decide on red or black paint, s it has a lot of both. The frame and engine needs to be pressure washed and detailed to really meet the truck's potential. Again, will leave this decision to the next owner. The truck is just short of 22 ' long, ith a wheelbase measurement (outside edge of front tires) of 85". The rear wheelbase (outside edge of rear tires) is just about exactly the same as the bed width, r 8' wide. The truck's height is just under 99". I would estimate the weight at about 8900 lbs. Included with the sale will be a clear Colorado title in my name, nd a clean original IH parts manual. Hopefully, he pictures tell the story about this remarkable old International truck. I have really enjoyed owning this truck. Although I never intended to keep this truck inside, decided (my opinion), hat it was much too nice to be left outdoors. Consequently, have "shoehorned" it inside my shop. But I have wistfully concluded (in addition to downsizing my stuff), hat it is just too big for my collection, nd that it should go to a new home or even a museum. No warranty expressed or implied. A 1000.00 deposit will be due to paypal within 24 hours of auction's close, nd the full amount due within 72 hours of completion.
