Time to send our Baby Blue off to a new home.
Blue is a 1970 International Harvester 1200D 3/4 ton 4x4 / All Wheel Drive pickup, with utility boxes and an engine lift crane installed.
She has a singularly badass 392 cubic inch V-8 power plant, that runs like such a machine should - and sounds awesome!
Blue is equipped with factory-installed frequency-agile amplitude modulated signal reception unit (AM Radio, to the less informed), fully functional, original equipment "2x60 Air Conditioning" (lower both windows and go sixty MPH - you'll be fine), and a heater that will run you out of the cab, on those winter mornings!
She is also equipped with the era-correct anti-theft deterrent, known to aficionados as a "manual fuel pump and a choke." No Millennial or Gen Z will be stealing this baby! Especially on a chilly morning! If they try, you’ll have time to finish your coffee, before you go out to shoot them.
Blue has a step-side bed, dual fuel tanks, and also is equipped with a factory-installed passenger side step, which deploys when the door is opened. Most folks that would be interested in this truck will probably need that, to get their lazy asses up into the passenger seat. I've never seen the feature before - it's actually very cool! (see pix).
This truck spent all but the last few years of her life as the service truck for the Redmond, OR Fire Department. Redmond is a city on the eastern side of Oregon's Cascade Range, in the High Desert in Central Oregon. She has always been well-cared for and properly maintained.
Blue has just under 65,000 original miles - and it shows. Great shape all around - and she just passed the New Hampshire Vehicle Inspection, today (May 27th, 2020).
Why sell? Well, we are shrinking our footprint - and we already have a killer 1969 Nissan Patrol (in case of a solar flare or EMP attack, of course!) that we plan to keep!
I've included pix of the seats - they shows all the signs of some fat-ass firefighters, riding in this beast for 50 years. I've also include pix with the custom seat cover, in case you don't want to mess up your favorite chinos, on the way to Cruise Night.
