Car description

I found a clean 1978 Diesel Scout on Craingslist several years ago. It had a SD33 Nissan diesel that was blown. I brought it home and began planning my dream vehicle. I purchased a Cummins 4BT with a P7100 injection pump. I bought an NV4500 5 speed transmission out of a 2002 Dodge Cummins truck, and an NP205 transfer case out of a 1993 Dodge truck. ARB Locker in the rear axle. I paid a local diesel shop to put the drivetrain in the Scout.
After the Scout returned from the the motor conversion, I had a Spring Over Axle, cut and turn, reverse shackle done courtesy of IH only North. I also had their High Steer conversion done. IH Only North also provided new shocks and towers.
The Scout then went to a local specialist for custom bumpers withbwinch, sliders, and roll cage.
At this juncuture, the Scout was stripped down to the frame. Every piece was sandblasted and prepared to go back together. The frame and inside of the body was given a fresh coat of POR 15, and then bed lined. The Scout was slowly put together making sure the doors were lined up, and opened and closed perfectly. The Scout was given a new wiring harness, new gauges, new double din stereo with navigation, new carpet, new air conditioning, and prepped for 3 rows of seating to host my family. During this time it also received a custom paint job. Hours and hours were spent blocking and sanding to prepare the Scout for paint. You might notice that there are two fuel doors. The Scout has two fuel tanks. One is heated for biodiesel in cold weather. There are many extras this Scout has. Did I mention the air conditioning blows cold.
After hours of prep, the Scout was painted and it turned out great. I had custom lettering added and painted on before the clear. It really looks sharp.
Finally, countless hours and years under construction were finished and the Scout was ready to be driven. One problem, I had spent so much time and money on the Scout that I was scared to drive it anywhere. It has now been mostly sitting in my garage and is driven very rarely. It has 1764 miles on the odometer, and I quit paying insurance after almost never driving it.
I have decided to sell the Scout, you won't find another one like it, don't let it go by.
