Car description |

This 1977 Diesel Traveler was sold new at Northeast Lincoln-Mercury in Hurst, x in Jan 1976 by special order to a man living in Mesquite, x. The clean Tx title is still in the name of the original buyer. The title shows a lien but it was released in 1983. I have a folder of paperwork that comes with the truck showing actions since day one. This truck is a standard shift 4 speed. The factory Nissan SD33 engine starts easily and runs well but it is not a turbo motor so it is pretty slow. It has power brakes but no power steering and no AC. When I got the truck someone had crudely installed some aftermarket gauges on a plexiglass panel where the factory gauges should have been. Alt, emp and oil pressure were working. I acquired a correct set of gauges and have only the alt meter morning right now. The speedo works but it is one I installed so I have no accurate mileage number.I have a decent green dash pad not reinstalled. The seats were all gone when I got the truck. The plaid seats came from a similar vintage Traveler. I have a matching plaid folding rear seat for Traveler configuration. I bought and installed a new center console between the bucket seats. A large Traveler roof with sliding side windows comes with the truck. I removed it last year when I started the Terra conversion. I have a new slider back window still in the box to fit the Terra fiberglass roof as well as a new rubber gasket for the window. I bought the Terra top, ulkhead and a tailgate from a local Scout Club guy who was kind enough to help me install the bulkhead. This is a far as I got on my Terra conversion before another project captured my interest. I have new rubber pieces than got between the top and the body. I could not decide on paint options because I like the patina but was considering painting the roof in lowrider style metal flake, ut could not find anyone to do it. Should have tried harder. This Scout does have some typical Scout body rust but it is not a rust heap like some you see. I have a low reserve on this special truck because I have committed to buy a 30 Ford and I need funds for that acquisition. This truck is not currently registered. When I drive it around the neighborhood, put an Antique plate on it borrowed from another car.On Jul-26-15 at 16:12:13 PDT, eller added the following information:
If this vehicle requires shipping, will cooperate with your shipper. It can sit here for a while if it is paid for until you or your shipper can pick it up. If the buyer wants the large Traveler top, can't put it back on the truck by myself - this is a four man job. We will need to figure this out.
