I picked up this Travelall after restoring several IH pickup trucks with some success. This is a special one since it is configured with the ambulance type back doors. I believe it was used in fire service in some way since there is a switch on the dashboard that looks like it was wired to some kind of siren under the hood. Otherwise it looks like a stock contractor edition Travelall. It's unusual to find an example like this since most were used hard by government agencies and left to rust. This one is straight as an arrow and shows only surface rust under the front floorboards. and no place else. It's "quirks" are listed in the condition description. This is a 3/4 ton platform and the wheels are all 8 lug industrial 16 inch. The seats are blue vinyl with cloth inserts and in good condition with no large rips or tears. The rear area has a rubber cover. As stated. a brand new headliner comes with it along with the hardware to install it. The paint is in rough shape. It looks like it has suffered a couple of amateur paint sprays. and because of the color of the seats I don't know if this was the original color. I love the white roof and hood pattern they put on these rigs. it looks really cool when done right. The original roof rack is installed and complete. The rear windows have had tint installed. but this should be easily removed with a heat gun it you don't want it. All the door locks need aligning and grease so they will work correctly. Right now all the doors shut and are very straight. but the windows need adjusting and grease as they do not open and close. All windows are up. Basically this is a very cool classic you never see at car shows because they are exceedingly rare. My plan was a complete frame on restoration. but this would also make are great resto mod. Some of these came with 3 seats for a total of 9 passengers so shouldn't be much trouble to turn it into a 9 seat hot rod that will tow your Airstream as well. Please send any questions or come by to have a look.
