Car description

1965 Honda S600 Roadster Convertible - Restoration nearly CompleteHere is your chance to own an extremely rare Honda S600 roadster.Once restoration is complete, his car will undoubtedly be one of the finest S600's in the world (worthy of display in a museum).I acquired this car 2 years ago and began a very meticulous restoration with experts located in the Reno, evada area.No expense has been spared in restoring this car. I have put a significant amount of money into it to ensure everything is as close to perfect as possible. I am taking a huge loss at the buy it now price but must sell asap due to divorce. The car was originally red and was stripped down for a full color change to black. I have the original factory paint chips and matched the black as close as possible to the original. All chrome was restored and rechromed. All instruments and gauges were professionally restored. Original radio was also restored to working order. The car also has brand new high quality red leather interior, anels and new carpet, ncluding rare removable headrests. The dash was also professionally restored. The car has many new parts that I have been acquiring over several decades. Prior to owning this car, had an original SM600 parts car. I used the SM600 to restore this car. Many rare parts from my SM600 are included with this car. This car has virtually every option that was available at the time, ncluding the original radio, un visors with radio antenna built in, loor mats, ear reverse lights etc. The original tool kit is also included with the original jack and many other parts and accessories which are now impossible to find. Rare, emovable headrests are also included. Brand new keys are even included which can be cut. There is some debate on whether SM600's were originally offered in black with red interior. My uncle used to work for Honda in the 60's in Canada, nd is adamant about the fact that a black with red interior SM600 was available for sale at the time in Canada. I have the original SM600 decal from my parts car which is also included.A brand new convertible top and top cover are also included (will need to be installed), long with a fiberglass hard top. Many new OEM parts were installed (or are also included) including brand new rear view mirror, new OEM decals, new ashtray, ide mirrors etc.The body and paint work was completed by a specialist in Reno, evada who has worked on several of the cars housed at the Harrah's National Automobile Museum in Reno, evada. He is a specialist in the restoration of show cars. When I acquired the car, he engine had been previously rebuilt but was not running properly. My mechanic took it apart and repaired the issues. The engine is not presently hook up (although everything is installed). Some work will need to be done to reconnect hoses (new hoses can be installed if preferred) in order to get the car running again. The engine is not the original to the car. New plates are also included which can be engraved with the chassis and engine number.Unfortunately, recently lost my mechanic (the only specialist in the area that knew anything about these cars). Even though the required work to complete the restoration is minimal, am not a mechanic at all (I can't even change oil etc.) and I cannot find anyone locally that will work on the car. I also have to sell itdue to a recentdivorce. I have had some questions in the past as to why I do not finish it and then sell it once it is complete - I obviously would if I could. Take a look at my seller history - I have sold many automobiles on eBay in the past - several of which were restoration projects - all with 100% positive feedback .This is an incredible opportunity for someone else to finish what I started. These cars have been increasing substantially in value over the last few years due to limited availability (including a recent Mecum auction in 2014 where a very similar black 1965 SM600 sold for 41k - I personally viewed that car which was restored many years ago and was beginning to look tired). Several Honda dealerships and museums have been buying the best quality cars for permanent display.I have all paperwork included with the car including the original owners manual, arts manual, hop manuals etc. (all originals - not reproductions). The car has a clear title. I also have paperwork detailing the history of the car back to the 80's.In the pictures, he car is quite dirty. The paint is perfect so anything you see that looks like a scratch etc. is only dust or dirt. The front hood will be reattached for shipping. Please note: I am not a mechanic at all. I will try to answer questions as best as I can but I have relied on others to complete all of the work on the car. Nothing was completed by myself - I hired professionals to do everything.Deposit of $1000 is due with 24 hours of auction ending with final payment due within 3 days. Car is being sold as is. Shipping is the buyers responsibility, lthough I can assist with making shipping arrangements.Bid with confidence. I have 100% positive feedback! I have sold many cars on eBay including a few restoration projects - all with 100% positive feed-back.
