Car description |

This 1984 Honda Civic 1500S belonged to a customer of ours who for unknown reasons stopped paying their bill and this car was liened. The customer had this car stored indoors in our storage facility for about 12 years at ~$200/month! She cared for this car greatly and took great care of it, always visiting it but never taking it out. I can't begin to understand some people but regardless this car is now mine and it really is in amazing condition for its age. It also only has 95k miles!
In my research online, these cars are very rarely in this condition and also rarely go for sale. There are a few flaws in the car but they are very minimal in my opinion and I would consider the condition of this car to be excellent for its age. Everything in the car is working including the original stereo and speakers (although the speakers are not great).
The car sat for some time obviously so once we acquired it I drained the gas tank, replaced the plugs, changed the battery, replaced the oil in the engine and transmission, and replaced the coolant. I was going to replace the air filter but it looks new. The muffler had a huge hole in it so I had it replaced in order to pass SMOG. The customer had the carburetor fuel lines disconnected so no fuel sat in the carb which was great but it did have a bit of hardened gunk in there. I was going to remove, clean and rebuild the carb but I decided to see if it would run as is. With some fresh gas and fuel treatment the car fired right up with no issue. It does bog down at 1000-1500 rpm when you get on the pedal but once it gets over that it revvs up great. I think the gunk in the carb will need to be cleaned out and I can do this if you want to pay for parts, I won't charge for labor, but the car runs and drives fine as is so I decided not to invest more time/money into it. The tires will probably need replacing as they have been sitting for some time and I'm sure are past their safe lifespan. I drove it around town for an hour and it was fine but I wasn't going over 50mph.
We did not receive keys for this car so I had a locksmith create 3 ignition/gas door keys. There are wheel locks on the wheels that the locksmith couldn't pick so he suggested I cut them off or just break them off with a hammer as they are supposedly cheap old ones. I can do this for you as well but again decided to leave it up to the buyer.
Please refer to the pics for options/condition. There is one dent on the rear pillar on the left side but there is very little noticeable defects. The air conditioning/heater does work as well as the wipers/lights/etc. It has a 5 speed manual transmission with no clutch issues or shifting issues. All gears shift smooth including reverse.
This Civic is at our secure storage facility currently and is open for viewing from 7-7 M-F and 7-6 weekends by appointment only.
We have the lien paperwork and bill of sale that will be required in order to register this car to CA at the DMV.
This car is also listed locally so listing may be ended early.
