UPDATE 01/30/17: I'm having a local vintage Honda mechanic assist me with some carburetor maintenance and the left rear shock(s) may need replacing. I have a budget of $1,250 for this and anything else we find, which is being added to the starting bid. I'll adjust the price and provide a completed list of things fixed or replaced when we're done. If you want to buy the car as-is right now, cash price is $6K. After we begin work, price will increase. six3zero...for6one-threee4sixx2. I'm in Schaumburg, IL, 20 minutes to O'Hare Airport if you're flying in.
After the mechanics are finished, all the bodywork will be repaired and repainted. If you can do that work yourself, you can save by me not having to do it.
Once I'm done painting it, I'll probably just keep it anyway. ;)
This is my Vintage, pretty darn RARE and definitely collectible 1979 Honda Civic CVCC 5-Door Wagon with Hondamatic 2-Speed Transmission, so anyone can drive it and, as of this posting, UNDER 59,300 miles. I drive it a little each day.
These 1970's Honda Civics were built to last forever, with regular fluid changes. They are some of the most reliable and easy-to-maintain cars ever built.
Here is a video walk-around and startup: https://youtu.be/wLaZjRo6L0M
West Coast one family car since new.
Mechanically, it starts right up on the first try and drives great.
Very responsive rack-and-pinion steering. New tires and recent brakes.
Seat covers on the front seats since day one, so they look mint, as does the back seat. No cracks in the dashboard, all the gauges, buttons, switches look like new.
98% rust free, solid strut towers, and the underside is clean.
This car is retrofitted with the receiver for the included tow bar made by Dutton-Lainson. It has a winch that easily pulls the car up into place.
This car definitely turns heads on the road and at the gas pump. Yesterday, some guy caught up to me at the gas station just to get a look at it. I told him to check it out here.
It's really a cool car to see driving down the street in 2017. Most 1970's Civics died a long time ago or are high mileage and complete rust buckets.
This one has the Original AM/FM Radio with those old-time push-button station selectors, and the radio works perfect. Nice sound.
Plus, all the interior and exterior lights and signals work, rear window defroster, even the original cigarette lighter which doesn't look like it was ever used, and the heater blows HOT. The horn works (sometimes). On the bucket list of things to fix this week.
Insurance is low on such a fun car to drive. Cheap to keep. Easily 300 miles between fillups on the highway.
Brand new Battery.
Brand new Tires.
Brand new Brake Master Cylinder
New wiper blades and headlights.
Just had the oil changed.
Just had the radiator flushed.
Dutton-Lainson Heavy Duty Towbar package
All original paperwork, Owner's Manual, Radio Manual, Startup Instructions, etc.
Any questions? Just ask. Clean and clear title.
Of course with any old car, it's sold completely AS-IS with no warranties.
PAYMENT:
By agreeing to buy this car, you also agree that the $250 deposit through PayPal is completely NON-REFUNDABLE, so be sure you want to buy this car before agreeing to it. If you don't agree with this policy, don't agree to buy it. It's that simple.
IF you want to pay for the entire purchase through PayPal, that's fine, but I recommend sending the money to me as a "friend or family" member, as I will NOT absorb any of the fees associated with using PayPal or Ebay, which fees amount to just under $400.00
The anticipated Ebay and PayPal fees have been added to the listing price and will be DEDUCTED from the final selling price IF paying either in $$$, certified or cashier's check or by the PayPal method just mentioned above.
Also, I WILL accept a U.S. Postal Money Order, Certified Check or Cashier's Check from any major bank with branches in or around my town (Schaumburg, IL USA) from well-established Ebay Account Holders ONLY, unless we speak in person first, and I feel you are a legitimate buyer and we agree to a deal.
IF paying by check or money order, it/they will be verified and FULLY CLEARED BEFORE the car is transferred and released to the new owner, so plan on that taking a few days, unless you come here in person and I or you can cash the check at the bank counter. Any check cashing fees will be borne by you, the Buyer, so it may be better to just write out a check to yourself for cash, if this applies.
All major banks are within minutes of my house, and we can handle the entire transaction at your branch bank, or mine, for security purposes.
Please call me before bidding, or your bid will be canceled and you blocked. Too many scammers. :) (sixxTHREEzero)4SIXXone-34sixty-two. It's a land line, so NO TEXTS.
I prefer a local c. a. s. h. buyer, but I will work with your shipper if you make all the arrangements and, of course, pay them yourself.
Thanks for shopping with me. :)
