Vintage and highly collectible 1979 Honda Civic CVCC 5-Door Wagon with Hondamatic 2-Speed Transmission, so anyone can drive it and, as of this posting, UNDER 59,100 miles. I drive it a little each day.
Here is a video walk-around and startup: https://youtu.be/wLaZjRo6L0M
I drove this car back from the West Coast, over 2,400 miles without a single issue. It ran great through the mountains and in the lower elevations, averaging easily over 30 miles per gallon.
Mechanically, it starts right up and drives great. It may need a carb adjustment or cleaning because it's necessary to leave the choke out a little when driving in town, but on the highway, not necessary, and when I use premium gasoline, the "problem" seems to go away.
The rack and pinion steering on this car is as tight as a go-kart. The tires are brand new and the brakes were recently done. I bought the car from the original (non-smoker) owner and you can tell it was meticulously cared for.
There have been seat covers on the front seats since day one, so they look mint, as does the back seat. No cracks in the dashboard, all the gauges, buttons, switches look practically new. Overall, the interior is absolutely MINT.
The car is probably 98% rust free, solid strut towers, and the underside looks very clean, too.
Also included is a 1970's and VERY HEAVY DUTY Dutton-Lainson towbar with attached winch that easily pulls this car up into place. This towbar is built to tow a car much heavier than a Honda Civic. They literally don't make towbars (or anything else) anywhere near this quality today. Plus, the car is already retrofitted with the receiver, so it's ready to tow behind your motorhome or truck right NOW!
This car definitely turns heads on the road and at the gas pump. It's really a cool car to see driving down the street in 2017. Most 1970's Civics are high mileage and complete rust buckets, having been through salty winters their entire life. This one came from the West Coast where they use NO SALT on the roads in Winter and you can easily tell this car was BABIED!
Original AM/FM Radio with those old-time push-button station selectors, and the radio works perfect. Nice sound. All the interior and exterior lights and signals work, rear window defroster, even the original cigarette lighter which doesn't look like it was ever used, and the heater blows HOT. The horn works (sometimes).
Finally, it costs very little to insure this car, which is a big deal for most people today. Fun to drive. Cheap to keep. Easily 300 miles between fillups on the highway with just an 11.9 gallon gas tank.
Brand new Battery.
Brand new Tires.
Brand new Brake Master Cylinder
New wiper blades and headlights.
Just had the oil changed.
Just had the radiator flushed.
Dutton-Lainson Heavy Duty Towbar package
All original paperwork, Owner's Manual, Radio Manual, Startup Instructions, etc.
Any questions? Just ask. Clean and clear title. I'm outside of Chicago in Schaumburg, IL. If you know anyone close-by, they can come and inspect the car in person by calling the number listed above.
Of course with any old car, it's sold completely AS-IS with no warranties.
PAYMENT:
By agreeing to buy this car, you also agree that the $250 deposit through PayPal is completely NON-REFUNDABLE, so be sure you want to buy this car before agreeing to it. If you don't agree with this policy, don't agree to buy it. It's that simple.
IF you want to pay for the entire purchase through PayPal, that's fine, but I recommend sending the money to me as a "friend or family" member, as I will NOT absorb any of the fees associated with using PayPal or Ebay, which fees amount to just under $300.00
The anticipated Ebay and PayPal fees have been added to the listing price and will be DEDUCTED from the final selling price IF paying either in $$$, certified or cashier's check or by the PayPal method just mentioned above.
Also, I WILL accept a U.S. Postal Money Order, Certified Check or Cashier's Check from any major bank with branches in or around my town (Schaumburg, IL USA) from well-established Ebay Account Holders ONLY, unless we speak in person first, and I feel you are a legitimate buyer and we agree to a deal.
IF paying by check or money order, it/they will be verified and FULLY CLEARED BEFORE the car is transferred and released to the new owner, so plan on that taking a few days, unless you come here in person and I or you can cash the check at the bank counter. Any check cashing fees will be borne by you, the Buyer, so it may be better to just write out a check to yourself for cash, if this applies.
All major banks are within minutes of my house, and we can handle the entire transaction at your branch bank, or mine, for security purposes.
These 1970's Honda Civics were built to last and last by simply changing the fluids regularly. They are some of the most reliable and easy-to-maintain cars ever built.
Whoever buys this car will simply love it. It's cute as a button, very reliable, you can park it almost anywhere and it's becoming more and more collectible each day, especially in this condition.
Please call me before bidding, or your bid will be canceled and you blocked. Too many scammers. :) (sixxTHREEzero)4SIXXone-34sixty-two. It's a land line, so NO TEXTS.
I prefer a local c. a. s. h. buyer, but I will work with your shipper if you make all the arrangements and, of course, pay them yourself.
Thanks for shopping with me. :)
