Car description |
---|
1982 GMC Ramp Truck. Professionally built in 1988. Frame extended and a custom built ladder frame to prevent frame flex added at that time. It has been all over Canada and the USA. The frame is as good as the day it was built. When it was built my Father purchased a new Cab and a new front clip, new old stock 1987 parts.
It has many unique and custom features. Dual 45 gallon side/saddle fuel tanks. These are from school buses with DOT approved crash bars. 36" sleeper bunk. The suspension is a factory lowered set up using a mix of factory GM parts- good for a lower centre of gravity.
My Dad and I used to make many trips down south to bring back boats and classic cars. This is geared very nicely and cruises easily at 75mph+. With 90 gallons of fuel capacity it has very nice travel range.
The engine is a factory GM 350- 300hp crate engine. It has only a handful of trips down south. ~10K or less. It starts and runs great.
Trans is a Turbo 400. It shifts smoothly between Park-Forward and Reverse. No slippage between gears. It was built years ago with heavier duty/stout parts.
The deck was removed from a factory multi-car carrier. It has integrated chain binders. We also added some sleeves that move up/down for bracing boat hulls. Aluminum ramps are 10'.
All glass is in good shape.
The truck was used privately, never commercially.
My Dad is downsizing and I'm assisting him with this process. NOT a fire sale. it's simply no longer being used and it's best to "pass the torch" to the next owner. LOTS of life left in this truck.
