1986 GMC JIMMY S-15 4X4 - 87,377 ORIGINAL miles.

· Clean title, never flooded or wrecked. All miles are actual/original; odometer has NOT turned over.

· Second owner. Used mainly as a farm/woods trail vehicle (no mud running), trips to city 90 minutes away.

· Runs good, starts every time. Strong 2.8L fuel-injected Chevy V-6 original motor.

· 4-on-floor manual transmission, shifts fine. Lots torque, 4WD like a cat crawling up a tree.

· Regular oil and filter changes, have maintenance records.

· Power steering, power brakes, drive train good.

· Interior pretty good shape overall, good matched Kumho all-season tires, ~1/4" tread life, full size spare.

· Seats 4, rear bench folds down (space to haul small 4-wheeler in back). 4 seat belts work okay.

· Replaced alternator, gas tank, radiator, battery, pcv valve, air and fuel filters, some brake lines.

· Original owner's manual, jack, floor mats, two sets keys included.

· Great work vehicle. Maybe use it as a street legal ATV/4-wheeler alternative? She ain't pretty, but she's a faithful workhorse!

The not so good: small tree hit roof in storm so driver window glass out (plastic covered), roof/door dented at top (very slight leak, but door still closes and locks); driver exterior door handle mechanism works, but is loose; lots road rust; needs paint/body work, muffler/exhaust pipe, emission control duct hose (connects exhaust manifold to air cleaner; $4.50 on rockauto.com), windshield washer fix (not sure if hoses clogged or pump needs replacing; wiper motor OK); tailgate release/lock stripped; rear bumper parking lot dent; AM/FM stereo radio dead; left bottom piece of rear window molding gone; driver seat torn.

There is an issue with the rear window/tailgate. On opening the rear window recently, the release/lock rotated all the way around and stripped out I presume from age, so it needs replacing (trunk lock cylinder; ~$10 on rockauto.com). But the tailgate is now locked in the closed position and I haven't figured how to open it without the release/lock. So the window is down/closed, but I blocked the latch so it wouldn't lock shut for now, until the release/lock is replaced.

The 4WD works fine, except the 4WD vacuum actuator under the hood can malfunction (likely needs replacing; ~$35 on rockauto.com), which can cause the 4WD shifter to pop back into neutral from 4WD low. So I used a heavy bungee cord to just hold back the 4WD shifter so it will stay in 4WD low. Hey, it works.

Note that I've replaced the old knobby mud tires with the Kumho all-season tires shown (the mud tires in the picture are not on the truck now). Just showing what it looks like with muds. Also, the air cleaner is shown with cover removed for better visibility.

This truck runs good and I would not hesitate to take it on the road, but for the driver window missing (though it is sealed from the elements with heavy clear plastic), and no muffler. Despite the age and body issues, due to its low mileage, I believe the motor and transmission have a lot of life left in them. I have spelled out here in detail all I know about it. I know nothing about that, as 1995 was well before I owned the vehicle. If that happened, there was no evidence of an accident and it was not disclosed to me when I bought the truck.
