Car description

For sale is a 1966 Catalina 4 door that has 63. XX miles. no rust and is very original including its date coded spark plug wires. This car came from North Dakota where it spent its entire life. The nice thing about being from North Dakota is that they did not use salt like they do in most Midwest states and it clearly shows with the condition of this well cared for Automobile. This Catalina was originally was sold at Lykken Pontiac in Grafton. ND and still holds the emblem that was placed on the car back in 1966. The build sheet was found in the car and support the original dealership and the options on this car. (Photo included) This car is a fairly low option car. but does include Deluxe Steering wheel. Deluxe front and rear Seat Belts. Power steering. Power brakes. remote driver mirror and a few other options. The original YC 389 is in the car as well as the original driveline. It also maintains its original Packard date coded spark plug wires from the factory. Some things have been changed out. such as the dist cap. rotor. upper rad hose battery. belts as well as tires and shocks. The interior of the car is very excellent for being just shy of 50 years old. The steering wheel and dash pad are as nice as I have seen and is rare to find on these Pontiacs as they tend to crack due to sun fade and general wear. but these have not. Good thing because to replace a dash on these cars can cost $800 and a redone steering wheel can cost $1500+. you don't need to do any of that with this car. The dash chrome is excellent as well as the column parts. The window cranks are very very nice as is the window sweeps. The seats show very little to no wear as does the carpet and kick panels that one would expect to see fade issues on a 50 year old car. The headliner has a few stains. but nothing that takes away from the overall feel of this car. All interior items work such as the heater fan. AM radio. dome light. cig lighter. and so onThe exterior is very nice. I believe that the car has been painted from the chrome strip down. but maintains the original paint form that strip up. I don't see any signs of rust repair or anything's of the like. my best guess is that they were fixing rock chips from living in rural North Dakota. The antenna is not correct and there are 2 dings on the front bumper and there is a crack in the windshield. The rear tail lights and front grill chrome are in excellent condition and show no signs of pits at all. The emblems on the outside are as nice as I have seen as well as the mirror and door handles. The chrome strip along the midsection of this car is in excellent condition as is the rear bumper. The upper paint is original to the car and is showing some wear. It is checked. but has been buffed and waxed to the point that it looks great. one may be able to take it further. but I did not want to go to far with buffing. No sanding was done. just a buff with 3M perfect It compound followed by meguiars mirror glaze wax. This car runs. drives. starts and stops great. There are no issues to prevent anyone from flying in and driving this one home (other than it is a 49 year old car) The brakes work great. the car starts up and runs down the road very well. I will be posting some videos to youtube to be checked out tomorrow. I do have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction earlyI prefer payment in cash in person after the end of the auction. but other arrangements can be made. Pick up of the car needs to be completed w/in 3 weeks of end of the auction unless other arrangements are made. If not picked up in that time I will need to charge for storage. The last car I sold on ebay sat here for 3 months before it was picked up. I can't do that again. If you do not have any feedback. I will cancel your bid. Buyers from across the pond are welcome to purchase. All shipping and cost of shipping is the buyers responsibility. I will assist to load the car. or help with local transportation if needed. On Apr-05-15 at 20:44:46 PDT. seller added the following information: If you type "1966 66 Pontiac Catalina Night Cruise " into you tube. I have a video I took tonight in there. I plan to get a walk around video in the next day or so. Sorry there is not much for song selection on the AM radio here. If the buyer of the car wants. I can install a RediRad for an additional $99 prior to it shipping out. Look RediRad up. it adds an IPod jack to the AM radio. I know the video is not that exciting. but take a look how the light makes the steering wheel sparkle. nbsp;how smooth the car rides at 70 mph and how decently fast it gets to that speed w/out pushing on her.
