1992 Geo Metro in fair condition. Runs and drives. 44-59+ mpg. This car lived in south east Utah so has no structural rust. Body has some minor imperfections here and there with some tiny spots of rust showing through the paint in spots. Engine was rebuilt on the cheap (new standard size pistons, ings and rod bearings plus valve job) due to a broken piston skirt ataround107k miles. Engine should have been bored at the time but I wasn't sure how the rest of the car would run out so put as little money into it as possible. Cylinders are over specification so it does use a little oil (about 1 qt/4k miles at lower speeds and 1qt/2k miles at higher speeds. There is a fair amount of piston slap noise due to cylinder ware. This quietsdown considerably after the engine is warmed up. The oil consumption dirties up the combustion chambers enough to cause some pinging in warmer temperatures. One cylinder will sometimes miss fire for a short time on cold start up after sitting a while. Spark plugs stay white clean. Tires have about 8k miles on them. Two of the tires are a little out of round (cheap tires). A/C blows ice cold (32-35 deg. F on a hot day from center vents) and has been holding it's charge of R12 for many years now. Included in this auction is a 1992 factory service manual as well as complete service records since I have owned the car. 1st gear synchro is mostly shot so the car must be nearly stopped before shifting into first gear. Recently flushed cooling system and replacedradiatorhoses before a 1324 mile trip. Other recent tune up items include spark plugs, lug wires, ist. cap/rotor and ignition coil. Brakes are in fair condition. Front rotors were replaced but have since warped again. Pads and shoes are in good condition. Muffler going bad at inlet. Intermittent wipers sometimes stop and have to be restarted. Motor contacts checked, uspect switch needs cleaning or replaced. There is something wrong with the idle air system so I have the solenoid unplugged. When plugged in the engine does not return to a normal idle right away but instead runs a bit fast and then slowly comes back down to a normal idle. I have been running the car for the last 43k miles with little trouble. If there is a big draw on the alternator such as when the lights are on, he A/C and blower motor it will idle a little slow due to the idle air valve being unplugged.
