Car description |
---|
This is a one of a kind blast from the past- 1992 Geo Metro XFi, all original, 90,938 miles. It starts and runs perfectly. The interior is very nice except for a couple of tiny holes in the driver's seat as seen in the pictures. The exterior is very good, though not perfect as it does have some faded areas in the paint, a few dings and small scratches. There is no rust anywhere and the body is solid. It is garage kept currently. For a rare 92 Metro XFi, it is one of the best you will find around.
This is the XFi Metro, a model designation of which only 10% of Metros were sold with from 1989-1993 and are recognizable by the unpainted bumpers and plain steel wheels. It is notable for actually achieving 46-55mpg with normal driving, thanks to a taller final drive gear ratio, a lightweight body design, manual transmission, smaller camshaft lobes, no factory A/C system, no radio/speakers, and one less piston ring. I have still been averaging 48mpg regularly with it.
Recent work done to the car includes a brand new clutch/throwout bearing, all-new cylinder head with head gasket and valves redone due to having burned a valve previously. Brakes recently serviced with new front rotors and pads. Tires only have a few thousand miles on them and are mostly new. Oil changed religiously as well as regular EGR cleanings. New PCV valve. New trunk support struts. An oem passenger side rear view mirror was added from a standard Metro by the first owner.
