Car description

For sale is my gorgeous 1963 Ford Thunderbird. I have had quite an enjoyable time driving it. fixing it. and getting lots of attention with this car. This is not a hot rod nor a muscle car. (though it sure sounds like it) this was the best of what Ford had to offer for 1963 as their Flagship model for the more refined and classy generation of consumers. This car will not win a show and still could use some restoration but if this was a top notch car it would be worth more than twice what I am asking for it! I will list as many of the good bits and restored parts of the car and also some of the quirks. Like I said. this car could be worth a lot more but my price is fair considering I have well over $11k invested which does not include the price I bought the car for. Please feel free to ask questions! I will reply in a timely manner. The car came with this set of 18" Graphite Vision Wheels. I also have the original steel wheels with hubcaps. You may notice there is an Edelbrock air cleaner but I still have the original air cleaner (does not fit over the MSD distrbutor). I also have the fender skirts that cover the rear wheels but they do not fit when the 18" wheels are bolted on which is why they are not pictured. I have a bunch of original parts and some items I had planned to put on the car like a Tachometer but never had the chance to get installed. They will come with the car. If you want to know what I have you need only request. I have a lot of receipts for almost all major parts and labor. The good stuff that has been done:-Numbers matching engine rebuild -2013-Oil Pressure switch replaced- 2013-Fuel pump replaced- 2013-Water pump replaced- 2013-Radiator replaced- 2013-Accessory belts replaced- 2013-Transmission fluid leak fixed - 2013-Wheel brake cylinders replaced - 2013-Console power window switches replaced - 2013-Driver side power window motor replaced- 2013-Passenger Rear quarter window fixed - 2013-Alternator replaced - 2014-Custom dual exhaust w/ Glasspacks - 2014-MSD electronic ignition - 2014Hood springs replaced - 2014-Halogen lowbeams - 2015-Holley 4 barrel carburetor w/ electric choke - 2015-Super Power steering pump replaced- 2015-Retro-fitted geared starter - 2015-New Battery as of February 2015-New tires as of late April 2015Some quirks:-The floor switch to control high beams and low beams should be replaced as it currently does not allow the high beams to come on. -This motor has a flat tappet camshaft and requires 1 quart of Zinc additive (commonly known as break-in fluid) to go with 4 quarts of conventional Oil-The hood has small patch rust on the very leading edge which a mechanic demonstrated with a couple of small holes where the metal is thinnest. Otherwise the hood is in great shape and could use some new insulation. -I have a re manufactured chromed antenna mast for the radio but the base needs to be pulled to repair a rusted in screw piece the former owner has not lubricated properly. -The transmission does not engage in reverse. I have gotten several professional opinions and the likely cause is a bad clutch band that drives reverse gear. I am being perfectly honest here when I say the transmission shifts very nicely in the forward gears and has absolutely nothing leaking or grinding. the darn thing just doesn't engage in reverse. (mind you that on any slight grade the car will easily let gravity do the work)I have nothing to hold back about this car. it is kept covered when not in use and drives very well. I have lots of original and new goodies to go with the car as stated at the top. I was very fortunate to have gotten this car since it was originally to be sold at auction on Ebay years ago but the seller took my local offer so don't let this car escape you! If you love it at first site as I did. please act quickly so you won't be disappointed! My asking price is firm but am willing to listen to reasonable offers. I will be advertising this car locally so if this car goes to auction and has bids on it I reserve the right to end it if necessary. Thanks for your understanding.
