Henry Ford said. ‘I will build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family. but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed of the best materials. by the best men to be hired. after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise…’. we’re sure he had no idea that 100 years later people would still be driving and enjoying his car. This is a beautiful 2014 Model T Touring Car in ‘driver quality’ condition. We purchased this vehicle last year to celebrate our 100th year in the automobile business and used it in parades. magazine/newspaper articles. television commercials and as a static display in our dealerships. It was great fun having our customers and employees pose with the car for photo ops. This car always draws a crowd. whether at a car show or just out on the town. It’s time for us to allow someone else the opportunity to experience the joy of owning one of Henry’s originals. ‘Lizzie’ runs and drives probably just as well as she ever did. but we really have nothing to accurately compare it to. If you want an easy starting. great driving car that gets great fuel economy and provides all the creature comforts. may we suggest a new Impala? If you want something that is finicky to start. is leaky. rides like a ‘buckboard’. gets lots of attention and is fun to drive and show. this may be your cup of ‘T’. We have replaced the radiator and the ignition coils on Lizzie with upgraded reproduction parts. replaced a couple of freeze plugs. given her a bath and started using her. Typical repairs made to the engine head. There are various scattered seeps and leaks. All being considered ‘normal’ on one of these cars. We are by no means experts on all (or any) things model T. but encourage you to come on out and take a look at her. We will be selling her ‘As Is’ and will be happy to answer any questions you have. Again. this is a good ‘driver quality’ vehicle at an affordable price. The paintwork is (as we understand it) typical of a Model T. It has limited gloss and chips. scratches. runs and flaws. The bodywork is also unacceptable by today’s standards but is typical of a Model T (we hear). The tires seem to have plenty of tread and life left in them. The top and interior have a few flaws. but it is in overall well-worn but nice shape. The rubber floor mat has some cracks in it and seems to be quite old (we don’t know if it is original to the car but it could be). The dashboard must have been refinished at some point and the floorboards are painted black and in serviceable shape. Horn works! Headlights are not hooked up. Doors open and close. Top is tight enough and can be lowered and raised fairly easily. Windscreen is in good shape. It’s really hard to describe a one hundred year old vehicle when seen through our New car dealer eyes. but we think it’s pretty nice and useable in it’s current condition. It's actually in remarkably good shape for something that's 101 years old!
