Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as the Terms & Conditions located at the bottom of each listing, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is one of the most interesting vehicles I've every acquired. This 1985 Ford Mustang GT was previously owned by Joseph R. Biden 3rd. Joe Biden the 3rd, commonly known as Beau Biden, is the late son of former Vice President Joe Biden Sr. I am told that this vehicle was purchased by Joe Biden Sr., the one presumed to be the next President of the United States, for his son Beau. I do not have direct documentation to this effect, through. This information was given to me verbally at the time I acquired the Mustang. It's worth noting that Beau Biden was born in 1969...so he would have been 16 years old in 1985. It would stand to reason that this was likely his first car. It was sold new in Delaware and I do have the Delaware title, which shows the prior owner as being Joseph R. Biden III and an old USAA insurance ID card in the car with his name on it. This vehicle is being sold exactly as I acquired it...right down to the cassette tapes in the glove box, matches from DC hotels, and a few golf balls. There are period correct Biden campaign stickers from his father's presidential run in 1995. I've chosen to not touch the car or recondition it in any way. When you have anything that has historical significance, my temperament is to leave it be. However, the next owner can choose to restore it or keep it in patina condition for their collection. Everything you see in the photos will come with the car. As for the car, itself, this Mustang looks about how you'd expect an original 1985 Mustang to look. The paint is faded from age, but looks original. The factory hood graphics are present. There is visible rust through on the doors and front fenders. The rest of the body looks pretty solid to me. All of the trim is present. All of the glass and lenses are intact, with exception of the front fog lights. The soft top has some patching on the left side, but the rest of the top looks intact and shows no signs of leaking. The original ten hole alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in nice rubber with nice tread all around. Please take your time and examine each of the photos carefully, as this is a 35 year old car and is far from perfect. The interior is also about average for an 85 Mustang. The door cards show some age. The carpets also show well, for their age. The dash shows some age and is deteriorated around the speaker grills. The matching red sport seats show well for their age. As you'd expect, they do show some wear and fading. The left rear window does not go down, but the other windows work. The power locks also work. The radio has been upgraded with an aftermarket unit, which does not appear to power up. The power top does not work, but is easily lowered and raised manually. The heater works great. This is a factory A/C car, but the A/C is inoperable. The trunk is clean and houses the original convertible top boot. Again, please take your time and examine each of the photos closely. Mechanically, this old Mustang appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 5.0L V8 fires right up and sounds good. The exhaust has been upgraded, at some point, so she has a nice rumble to the exhaust note. The engine keeps proper temperature and good oil pressure. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine makes good power and feels strong. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. With the exception of the exhaust, the car appears to be completely original. It drives down the road nice and straight, too. I'm sure this Mustang has had a very interesting life. It was likely the first car for a Senator's (and later Vice President's) son who would go on to a career in the military and become the Attorney General of Delaware before his unfortunate early death. This Mustang certainly has the provenance to be worthy of a restoration...or you could leave it as it most likely was the last time it was owned by someone with the last name Biden. It's almost a certainty that Joe Biden Sr probably went for plenty of rides in this Mustang GT with his some. Heck, he maybe even taught him how to drive stick in this car. It's hard to say. Regardless, it's an interesting find. Like all of my vehicles, this very interesting 1985 Mustang GT convertible will be sold to the highest bidder. The odometer reads 48,XXX miles but it is a five digit odometer. The title indicates that actual mileage is 148,XXX miles...but I can only represent mileage as it is shown on the odometer. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
