STK 2761 1940 Ford StandardThis 1940 Ford Standard coupe is a superb example of one of Ford's most iconic models. It is considered a 'Package Shelf Coupe' based on the interior configuration. The Ford was fully restored in 2008 and looks better than showroom. The restoration included a striking respray of Black. All chromework is exceptional and factory steel rims w/caps mount period correct Firestone bias-ply tires. The taupe cloth interior has been totally refreshed and is a work of art. All vintage gauges (except amp-meter) are functioning perfectly. The Ford is powered by a rebuilt 239ci flathead V8 (not original) that is mated to a three-speed manual transmission with column shift. It is fitted with a Holley 91-99 carburetor, dual exhaust and electrics that have been upgraded to a 12-volt system. Hydraulic drum brakes handle stopping requirements. This classic '40 Standard coupe is a perfect runner and stunning piece of Ford history. Photos do not do it justice - it must be seen to be appreciated.
