Car description

1955 FORD THUNDERBIRD, 2 TOPS, RARE LOADED WITH RARELY SEEN FACTORY POWER OPTIONS, NEW TORCH RED PAINT W/RED & WHITE DELUXE INT. FACTORY V-8, AUTO, TELESCOPING STEERING WHEEL, PS, PW, POWER SEAT, TACH & CLOCK, SPARE AND MUCH MORE.

You are bidding on a 1955 Ford Thunderbird heavily optioned with all the rare seldom seen power equipment. Factory original R-color-code Torch Red code with gorgeous Deluxe two tone Red & White Interior, 2 Speed Automatic Transmission, Power 4-way seat, Power Windows, Power Steering, Telescoping Steering Wheel, optional factory tachometer in dash, factory clock, Two Tops, T-Bird Radio, engine dress-up kit, correct wide white wall tires, full spare, boot cover and more. Just a brief history I purchased it from a woman owner who bought/titled it in NJ in 1981 with 3,908 miles showing on the title (I do have that title copy to convey to new owner) the odo now reads 8,713 I was told they were original miles my NJ title reads actual miles however I am selling the car as mileage exempt simply due to age of the vehicle with no other supporting mileage docs. Interior is believed original it looks amazing. Original lacquer paint was checking typical due to age hence I decided to give it a fresh Torch Red paint finish just recently completed. If you have been searching for a beautiful Torch Red 55' Bird well equipped with rarely seen factory power options here are more details.

The Details;

True factory “R” code Torch Red Bird. It has a no rust arrow straight body with fresh repaint in Base Clear Urethane buffed to a mirror. The chrome trim are beautiful to compliment. The interior believed original has virtually no wear it looks amazing. It is loaded with rare options it is beautifully appointed thru-out the interior. All the trim, emblems, glass, are in great shape as well. It is just an amazing classic deco 50’s interior that shows incredibly well. The engine compartment is really nice and has the optional factory dress-up kit. The trunk is nicely detailed full spare tire with mat. *Soft-top is included with all parts not currently in the car (*see pix). The optional Porthole factory hardtop is excellent restored condition. Chassis is rock solid appears to have had some light preservation done prior to my ownership looks clean and dry.

The Mechanics;

Upgrade to 12 Volt System. An electric fuel pump was added for safe engine start-up protection. Car has been carefully gone thru and has been very kept up mechanically it runs and drives so smooth its a pleasure. Built with quality it has smooth V-8 power and is considered one of the best looking, most reliable, 2 door American Iconic roadsters of the 50’s era.
