Car description |
---|
Very original Starliner in good running condition. The car was purchased in 1959 in the Sacramento Valley and has never left. The last registration tags put on the car was 1976, so it was parked for 43 years. The cars had one white repaint and a white seat cover interior kit back in the 70s other then that its all factory original.
We acquired the car a few months ago and have brought it back to a somewhat roadworthy condition (Keep in mind this is a 60 year old automobile). We changed the fuel tank, fuel pump, water pump, hoses, brakes, rebuilt original carburetor, radiator, changed all fluids, tuned the motor, shocks, belts, T3 hi lo beam all working, dual flowmaster exhaust, installed a front wheel disc brake set up (original drum brakes will go with the car, in really nice shape) and many other miscellaneous chores that comes with a auto resurrection. It will require plenty of final tinkering by the new owner but the hard works been done, finish it as you'd like.
The Good: Its a Starliner. The body is really nice. The cars never been disassembled and is complete with all the factory hardware. The 352 runs strong and the auto trans shifts nice. Its all there - including the missing interior garnish moldings in the pictures and hood trim, bullseye fender ornaments and gold Starliner front fender logos. Clear California Title. Original Black and Yellow plates issued with the car. The stainless and chrome is all present and in very restorable condition.
The Bad: Single vertical crack on the left window. Dirt got caught between the top of the gas tank and the trunk pan so the trunk pan has some minor damage. Dirt piled up in the right door and started to rust the outer skin about 6" up - did not damage the bottom of the door, the frame or rockers at all. Windshield has a horse shoe shaped crack down low by the dash 4" up. Dash is cracked. Seats need to be recovered. Needs a headliner, all bows are present. Needs paint.
