I am selling a friends Mustang form him. He purchased car February of 2019 this year for over $20k on Ebay from a shop here in Scottsdale and invested another $12k afterwords in mechanical work. The shop that built it looks to have put good money in some areas of the Mustang, but did not complete quality work in others.
This is a 1965 Mustang, 289 V8 engine, Automatic transmission, A/C, power steering car.
Unit started having run ability and brake issues shortly after purchasing. Had extensive work done. Hi flow summit racing billet water pump, Edelbrock intake, performer 500cfm carburetor, new fuel pump, lines, filter along with Pertronix electronic ignition. Aluminum radiator with electric fan kit was added for additional cooling efficiency. New brake master cylinder with brake system flush & bleed (4 wheel drum brakes). Belts/hoses and much more.
The paint job was decent but had poor body work underneath (small dings and imperfections all over car). From what I can tell looking under the car, the floor pans, trunk and frame rails look to have zero rust and are in good condition. The right rear quarter paneland wheel wellhave rust and body filler in it, the outercracking through paint (see picture). The Mustang looked excellent driving down the road.
New set of Scott Drake wheels with new 245/45-17 tires in the rear and 235/45-17 in the front.
The complete interior was done very nice. Cobra steering wheel, clean dash/gauge cluster with all gauges working. Functioning factory A/C system. Headliner, carpet kit, door panels, front and rear seat upholstery (rear seats have sun damage cracking as if unit sat outside here in Phoenix after interior was installed).
This unit was transformed into a fun daily driver car that was dependable and fun to drive that got lots of attention wherever he drove it. While at stop light 3 months ago, an electrical fire started in the engine bay. He was fortunateto not be injured, but had to watch the front of the car burn until a fire truck put it out. The damage was pretty extensivein the engine bay as seen in the pictures including engine, belts, hoses, suspensionbushings, brake master cylinder damage, wire harness, battery, ect. The rest of the body and interior was not damaged. Interior does NOT smell of fire damage or smoke. Hood was burnt. I have not tried to turn unit over or do any work on it. The car does not run.
Odometer shows 18,493 but do not consider that to be correct. Insurance did not total car so it does have a CLEAN TITLE. He has decided to sell the Mustang as is and not repair it.
If you have any other inquiries, feel free to contact me at (602)708-9068.
Thank you,
Steve
