This 1963 Ford F100 is one cool truck! From the period two-tone paint and bodywork to the strong-running, recently rebuilt 351 Cleveland V8 under the hood, it's a refreshed take on an old favorite. The former owner has invested a lot of time and money to make this Blue Oval pickup truly stand out, and you'll really have to see it in person to get a full dose of its awesomeness. First off, the two-tone White-over-Caribbean Turquoise... paint job looks great on the upright Ford's sheetmetal, separated neatly by the speared trim that's been accented with red paint. There are several neat body details on the 4th generation F-series body style, and that relief line running the perimeter of the body is a natural color break that later inspired the Bump Side and Dent Side Ford pickup designs that followed. The bright paint also emphasizes the wonderfully ornate front fenders, which flow seamlessly into the grille up front, which is also neatly finished. It's far from perfect, but the finish presents very well for a driver, so some of the flaws and bumps and bruises can be excused when the curb appeal is so high. The bed itself is finished with spray-in bedliner material that is certainly tough enough to still be used as a pickup should. The few pieces of bright trim are on the truck, including the front bumper, mirrors, and window molding are newer and in great condition and add just the right amount of jewelry to the pastel color scheme. And to finish the look, the body rolls on killer white "steelies" with red center caps to tie the whole theme in together. What a cool truck! The interior is tastefully updated yet still classically simple, with tan leather upholstery on the upgraded bench seat (swapped in from a '97 F-150), painted door panels with large map pockets, and a cleverly upgraded color-matched dash that's in great shape. The factory instrument panel was replaced in favor of a polished bezel that's now filled with modern white-faced Auto Meter gauges, with a speedometer in its center and auxiliary gauges flanking it in the outboard positions. A wood-rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel somehow looks exactly right in this '60s hauler, and the fact that it sits atop an aftermarket tilt column means that the driver gets to be a lot more comfortable when he or she is navigating this rig. A digital retro-style AM/FM/AUX stereo system sounds quite good thanks to a well-insulated cab that features plush carpets and spray-in bedliner underneath them. It shows minimal use and the subtle design and tasteful mods won't go out of fashion like so many over-done customs you see. The engine is a Ford 351 cubic inch small block Cleveland V8, which is a nice upgrade over the truck's original 292 cubic inch unit with a 2-barrel carburetor. Rebuilt only 100 miles ago and still filled with break-in oil, this fresh powertrain was augmented with an .030 overbore and a mild cam, it's very powerful and shows 10:1 compression. With a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, this one really wakes up and gives this vintage pickup the moves of a muscle car. It's very nicely detailed in the engine bay, but it's also functional, torquey, and the important stuff like the MSD system is right, because it starts easily and idles without getting cranky, and a giant aluminum radiator up front keeps the whole show nice and cool. Chrome valve covers and a chrome air cleaner look great up against the painted inner fenders and firewall, and despite the larger motor, service access is still good. An X-pipe dual exhaust system and throaty Magnaflow mufflers gives it the right tone, and the freshly rebuilt with a shift-kit C6 3-speed automatic transmission and heavy-duty rear end don't mind the work. There's power steering up front and power 4-wheel disc brakes to help in the stopping department, and it sits exactly right on those white "steelie" wheels with red Ford center caps wrapped in 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear blackwall radials all around. This is a nicely done pickup that's unusual enough to get second glances and so well built that everyone who looks will stick around to see all the details. Call today!
