WOODROW, THE SECOND OWNER, AND GOOD FRIEND OF MINE,BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 1949, I BOUGHT IT FROM HIS DAUGHTER IN 2016.WOODROW RAN A ONE MAN, OLD SCHOOLAUTO REPAIR SHOP FROM 1948 TIL HE PASSED IN 2014,AT 95 YEARS OLD.IT SHOWS 87,500 MILES, BUT NO DOCS.ORIGINAL MAROON PAINT WAS REPAINTED BLACK IN THE LATE 50', OR EARLY 60'S. SO ITS AT LEAST, OVER 50 YEARS OLD. HAS SOME "FRECKLES", BUT NOTHING HAS POPPED OFF.20 FOOTER,SHINES GREAT. ALL ORIGINAL CHROME,TRIM, NO RUST EVER.ORIGINAL FLATHEAD WAS REPLACED IN 60'S WITH AFRIENDS WRECKED 53 MERCURY FLATHEAD, 255CI, BONE STOCK DOWN TO MERK AIR CLEANER. ORIGINAL TRANS, REAR.WOODROW PAINTED THE DASH RED, BACK WHEN. WE FOUND A PINT OF MADATOR RED LACQUER IN THE TRUNK. QUARTER WINDOWS HAVE A 50'S DARLINGTON SOUTHERN 500, AND INDY 500 ORIGINAL DECALS. THE DAUGHTER TOLD ME SHE HAD NEVER SEEN THE TOP DOWN. WE BELIEVE ITS THE ORIGINAL TOP. IT HAS THE POWER TOP OPTION, BUT THE HYDRAULIC HOSES BROKE.THEY MUST HAVE BEEN ORIGINAL.
I CAN'T LEAVE ANYTHING STOCK, SOWE BOUGHT A NEW EDDIE MYER 2-2 INTAKE, WITH 2 REBUILT HOLLEY 84'S, A MALLORY DUAL POINT DISTRIBUTOR, RED'S HEADDERS, WITH ANOTHER PIPE AND GLASS PACK TO SUPPLEMENT THE ORIGINAL HOMEMADE MUFFLER.SOUNDS GREAT. THE FRONT END SATTO HIGH FOR ME. POSIES SUPER SLIDE, REVERSED EYE WITH 3 LEAVES REMOVED GOTIT DOWN. WIDE WHITE RADIALS ON FRONT, REAR RADIALS HAVE PORT A WALLS.WE WENT THROUGH THE BRAKES, FUEL SYSTEM AS NEEDED.WE GOT SOME INDIAN BLANKETS. MY WIFE SEWED AND PINNED, THE SEAT COVERS FROM THEM.
