Car description

Professional Restoration Completed August 2017

Factory Original & Numbers Matching K-Code Engine

All Original Sheet Metal (100%)

Miles Are Original 61,000 (approx.)

Listed in the 289 HiPo Book (4th Edition)

This Mustang K-Code is restored in its correct factory color Rangoon Red paint. The original numbers matching engine was properly built and detailed as well as the transmission and all supporting parts. All the sheet metal and body is original ... no body work or replacement panels were needed. The metal trim work is also original, polished during the restoration; front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed. The underside of the car was stripped down to the metal also and then prepped and sprayed with Red Oxide Epoxy Primer. The floors are original steel not replacements. The paint and body are excellent. The body is laser straight with all gaps near perfect and the paint is as slick as glass, including the door jambs and trunk. The glass is the original, optional factory tinted glass with banded original pit-free windshield with Ford logo ... and all in excellent condition.

The original numbers matching engine, C5AE-6015E (Date 4L19) vin stamped 5F09K379186, (and correct heads 20 & 19), was rebuilt to factory specs and factory details including parts (internal & external), and paints/colors (including paint dipping) and markings. The carburetor is the correct Autolite 4100 C6ZF-C (HIPO only) B5JD date code... manual choke, and correct Autolite dual point distributor C3OZ-12127-D and yellow-top coil. The drive shaft was shipped to DEAD NUTS ON in Fresno, CA. where it was rebuilt including new center tube, correct paint markings, new correct Ford U-Joints, and cleaned the yoke... all as new and correct. (shown in pics) ... The rear end is not the original. It is a Ford 9 shortened with 31 spline axles and the big bearings.

The interior is the original that came in the car. It was removed cleaned up and re-installed at the appropriate time during the restoration process. The car only had 60k miles on it, therefore the interior is in great shape. It includes the original seats, center console, front seat belts, door panels, head liner, dash, gauges, handles, knobs, and switches...all original to this car.Only the original door seals have been replaced. Everything works even the original AM radio; clock does not work. The trunk has a replacement trunk mat, new gas tank, and what looks to be the original spare and jack.

Tires are brand new BF Goodrich Silvertown Radials P205/70R14's from Coker.

This is an excellent Mustang. It runs great. The paint and body are high quality. It is 1 of only 466 known K-cars built in Dearborn in 1965 and is listed and registered in the 289 High Performance 4th edition book by Tony Gregory.
