Car description |

Up forsale is this all original 1979 Ford F-350 RangerLariat Super Camper special long wheelbase truck. F-350s are 1-Ton pickup trucks. While Ford sold well over one million (1,053,394) light duty trucks in 1979, fewer than 8% were F-350 1-Ton pickups. 40years later, very few 1979 F-350 1-ton pickups remain.
This example is in original condition and still has its original paint. The odometer shows just over 101,368 miles. I am a certifiedAutomotive Technician and believe this is the first time the odometer hasturned over based on how the truck runs and drives, and also because I know the truck's history over the last ten years. I alsohave an oil change receipt from 2013 showing just 96,000 miles andthe truck has been parked (CA non-op'd) 2013-2019 (it is now currently registered). It has never been in an accident, the body is straight overall and has fewer than the typical dings, dents, scratches, and scuffs as could be expected with a 40 year old truck with its original paint (see pics). It has the big block 460 enginewhichruns well. This truckjust passed its California smog test and now has current California vehicle registration to October 2019, so both the registration and the smog certification are current for California residents (smog certvalid for California transfer through July 01, 2019).By the way I posted a picture of the smog test results because I feel thattailpipe emission readings can be a good indicator of internal engine condition. There is no lienhold on the truck andI have the California Certificate ofTitle (pink slip) which is 100% in my name.
Located in San Jose, CA, the VIN decode shows it was manufactured in Fremont, CA (just a few miles from San Jose) and it spent most of its life in Salinas, CA (just 45 minutes south of San Jose), so this is a true California (mild weather) vehicle.
The A/C is not working and looks to be missing a component (I'm not an AC guy). The actual glove compartment is missing when you open the door but the glove boxdoor itself is there and itlatches and locks just fine. Driver's-side turn signal lens is cracked. The fuel gauge works for the rear tank only but both tanks do deliver fuel (and the front tank's sending unit is readily accessible from under the truck). The rear license plate light does not illuminate but that's a one-wire connection to a 12 volt source soit should be an easy fix.
Overall the Lariat interior looksvery good! The truck starts, runs, drives straight, brakes straight, the engine runs smoothand hasgood oil pressure, the transmission shifts well, the running lights work, brake lights work, turn signals work, side marker lights work, head lights work, blower fan works, wipers work, windshield washer motor works, horn works, dash and instrumentation lights work, driver's door outside handle feelswell utilized(to be expected) but still works perfectly, door locks work, windows work, locking hood latch works, and so on. It has new engine oil, new transmission oil, new differential oil, the brake pedal is solid (1-ton brakes!), and it has a remanufactured OEM Holley-Ford carburetor. It still has the original bottle jack located under the hood and the jack's manual hand crank securedbehind the seat. The original 1979 Ford Truck Owner's Manualis included.
With its Super Camper long wheelbase, combined withits 1-ton brake system, massive radiator and suspension, this F-350 is adream when it comes to towing and/or hauling a big load. If you have a 1979F-250now then you'll see ahuge difference with the 1-ton F-350.
This vehicle is in such good operable condition for its age that I would trust it on a long distance trip, such as the several hundred mile trip fromSan Jose to Los Angeles, or possibly even across several state lines.
I have described this truck to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. This vehicle is being offered as-is, where-is, and without warranty (please be realistic with your expectations as this is a 40 year old truck after all). All sales final, sold as is, no refunds, no returns. All offers will be considered. I accept Paypal, credit card, and cash-in-person. Payment due within 3 days of purchase. Happy bidding!
Important Note: I ama busy person andwill nottolerate "sport bidders." eBay purchases are a legally binding contracttherefore serious bidders only, please. Also I intend to make this truck available for sale locally, and thereforereserve the right to end this auction at any time should it sell that way. Thank you.
