This truck, "Theodore" was featured inClassic Truck Magazine (Nov. 2010)and has earned numerous trophies and awards locally including a Goodguys "Just Cause It's Neat" Award at the Del Mar Nationals.
Since my ownership this F1 has been driven less than 3500 miles in 10 years. I chose not to add the obligatory Mustang II front end or move the gas tank. I like that it has no power steering and retains the OE big steering wheel with the solid front axle. The Coker Radial tires make it a pleasure to drive. It has been garaged everyday. The paint is in very good condition and photographs great, but is not perfect. It was only washed with actual water over 10 years ago! Since then it has been detailed with Waterless Wash products, wax and polishes. It has never been driven in the rain or left outside overnight. Ever.
I cannot stress enough that this F1 needs NOTHING! CLEAR CA TITLE. It has zero dings, dents or rust. The doors shut solid and all weatherstripping is in new condition. All gauges work as well as interior lights, turn signals, both horns, headlights, high beams, Fog Lights.
Underneath it is all Ford! Modern upgrades like the 302 and C4 trans allow for driving on freeways and being able to keep up with traffic. It still retains the solid front axle and does not have power steering. With the Coker Radial Wide Whites (less than 200 miles of use) it drives and handles like a dream. Shifts quiet and smooth.
This F1 is a hot rod in OE clothing! It will take off and go and sounds awesome, but also handles extremely pedestrian.
There are absolutelyno secrets here. I am setting a Reserve because this is NOT a fire sale. I am switching gears and moving in another direction looking for a new vehicle that allows me to take my two large dogs. If an agreeable price is reached I will remove the Reserve.
This sale includes some very rare and very cool items such as the OE Fire Extinguisher, working OE AM radio (which you can hear on Youtube!) 1949 Ford brochure, Accessories catalog,OE 1949 Owners Portfolio and Repair & Service Manuals. Period correct CA License Plate. Four extra Ford F1 rims.
You are more than welcome and encouraged to come see this F1 for yourself or send someone in your place.
PLEASE do not request the Reserve price or if I will end the auction early.
The only trades I am interested in are:

This F1 is a true California truck. Drove off the assembly line in late March of 1949 at the Long Beach plant. It has spent it's entire life in California spending time in Grass Valley and now in San Diego.
