I bought this truck from the older farmer that has owned it since 1984. This truck was parked in the barn luckily and only shows 80,364 on the odometer! He said he had the motor rebuilt about 25 thousand miles ago. When I got it I pretty much just started from the front and went to the rear replacing all the items that needed to be replaced since I was going to make it a cool little shop truck for my business. Starting with the motor its a 240 cubic inch straight 6 cylinder that cranks faster then my new truck! I did a complete tune-up plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, oil change, battery, starter, rebuilt carb, belt etc, The entire cooling system is new I put a big aluminum radiator in it,new thermostat, water pump, and hoses to run cool in texas. The entire Fuel System is new also New Fuel Tank,Fuel Pump.and all new metal lines from the tank! The Entire Brake System is new, New master cylinder, all new wheel cylinders, hoses, some brake lines were replaced, brake shoes, and repacked and greased all the wheel bearings and added new front shocks and swaybar bushing kit to make the front end handle better and added a flowmaster muffler which sounds great. The inside still has the ORIGINAL SEAT AND FLOOR MAT!!! The seat looks great only the top part has rips but, not the part you see. This inside is as clean as you will ever see for original all I did was add a New dash mat and new door panel arm pads. Also installed all new door weather stripping, rear window rubber and installed a new windshield with weather stripping. Just put Brand New275/40/20's all the way around on Brand New Satin Grey Torque Thrustrims that really dressed it up and fit like a glove! The outside still has the original patina that was too pretty to cover up so I wet sanded and got as much of the color to come back out and put 4 coats of satin clear to protect and seal the paint and body so it wont ever change. I also cut out the few rust spots of the windshield and welded in new metal so it would never come back and did a satin white roof and aged it to break up the blue and matched the bumpers, overall it was just the right touch, before the truck had too, much blue. This is a solid old truck and only has a few little spots on the lower driver door and pass lower hood under the badge where they all rust due to the badge holding water but this is the look for this truck. It is the perfect go junkin, hit antique shows, car and hotrod shows, weekend cruises or for a shop truck or a way to advertise your business with your logos on the door. This thing even still has the original bumpers on it that are like mint. This truck is a extremely low mileage truck and has been stored properly that's why its in the shape its in. Its almost impossible to find a 40 year old seat and floor mat that's not tore up and with only being a 80 k truck the body is still extremely tight and sealed! The doors shut and open like new and doesn't sqeek. When I found it I loved the fact that it was a 6 cylinder truck for fuel mileage and they are way more dependable and easier to work on. Plus having a automatic is rare, Ive had 30 or more and never this combination powertrain. This truck runs like a sewing machine and cranks up faster then a new car and runs extremely good. I was building this thing for a women to drive so everything has been replaced that would normally go wrong and the only thing that I didn't add that would make the truck perfect was a vintage ac and heat. This will be a excellent truck for someone to enjoy and should be a very dependable truck that is going to keep getting higher every year in price, so it will be a investment, they don't go down!!!
