Up for auction is this fully restored. nbsp;1965 A Code Mustang Coupe. This car has original pony interior. power brakes and power steering. While this car is a 65 it has 66 gauges which could mean it is a gt but I have no way of officially verifying that. Marti report doesn’t go back that far so I couldn’t confirm it. I bought this car in running. perfect condition. but everything was original and in need of replacement. Besides the engine and transmission. I have restored almost everything else. Engine runs very well. I have taken the valve covers off and checked their originality and they are. nbsp;1965 289. I don’t know if it’s ever been rebuilt but it does run perfectly so I didn’t mess with it. Same goes for the transmission. I took some pictures of the carburetor and intake; you can see they are original too. I have cleaned and repainted the valve covers and the air filter which were originally gold. I replaced the oil pan to chrome and repainted the engine. The power steering is original but I did have to rebuild it since it was leaking. If you know about these cars. you know how expensive that is. About the suspension. I did a lot of work. Most of the bushings. ball joints and tie rods were dry. cracked and no good. So I have replaced all of the useless parts. I painted the undercarriage to how it was originally done. with the correct primer just like how the factory did it. I had the car painted professionally and it looks really good. While the paint job isn’t absolutely perfect. it is still wonderfully done and is of good quality. I paid a substantial amount for the paint job and was very pleased with the result. There are a few fisheyes; however they do not detract quality from the car. The gold stripes are also painted on but the Hertz decal is from Scotts Drake. I’ve always wanted to build a Hertz clone and this car was the perfect candidate because of its quality and rarity. The interior is new top to bottom just like it was originally and the center console is original but I did change its color to black. This car was originally greenish/gold in the interior with white pony inserts and now everything is black. All of the lights and gauges work. The car is completely rust free and a California car with a blue CA license plate. As far as I could tell. when the car was completely stripped. every panel and sheet metal looked original except the driver door. For some reason it look like it may have been replaced. I myself have replaced the hood. I bought a new hood with a scoop and had the body shop put it on. It is not a concourse restoration but it is as good as it gets for the asking price. Below is the list of new parts and additions to the interior and exterior and engine of the car and pictures and a video to show every inch of the car so you know exactly what you are buying. They are not edited or modified what so ever. There is A LOT but it is definitely worth looking at to see the quality of the car. Here is a list of all the additions to the car.
