In ’65 you could go to your local Hertz Rental car and rent a black with gold stripe Mustang 2+2 Fastback. Most would take them straight to the drag strip and race them. This car has underwent a 10 year restoration and built to look like they did with the Shelby upgrades. This car still has the original 1 Owner Title from TN. It was totally pulled apart and rotisserie restored with no expense spared. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior. interior. and driveline of the Ford. but first we would like to tell you a little about us. Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned. operated. and own our entire inventory. no consignments. and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So. that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. The body on this car is laser straight with great fit of the panels. It has the Port Side Windows as well as the side scoops. Up front it has the small hood scoop and the plain grill and don’t forget the Bullit side mirrors. At the time of this build they installed new bumpers as well as other new chrome. All the tail lights are new as well as the front markers. Everything is covered in the slick Black Paint that is accented by the Gold Stripes that are painted on below the clear. The paint has a deep rich shine that shows very well. The glass was removed and resealed as well as new weather stripping installed. The final exterior touch is the set of 18” and 20” Billet Specialty Intros with New Tires. Next. we will take a look at the interior of the GT 350. The interior is done in classic black that looks awesome with the exterior scheme. As with a real Shelby it is a rear seat delete and has a roll bar. The front seats look correct as does the carpet and headliner. When you look at the dash it ahs custom gauges and an AM FM radio. The A/C is mounted under the dash. Everything in this car looks new and it has a wood wheel with a set of racing lap belts. Finally. we will take a look at the driveline of the Ford. Under the hood it’s done right with a 289 V8 that’s built to run. The trans is a 5 Speed that’s mated to a 9” Ford Rear End with a Posi. The engine is dressed with an Aluminum Intake and Holley Carb. It has a set of chrome valve covers and breather. The exhaust flows through coated headers and flow master exhaust. To keep it cool it has an aluminum radiator. When they A/C was added they did a nice job on the placement of the lines and compressor. When you look under this ride all the floors pans look new with solid frame rails. All the front end was rebuilt with a Sway Bar being added. To make it stop it has 4 Wheel Disc Brakes from Baer that are Power with the drilled and slotted rotors.
