This Mustang was purchased new from Robert H. Loud Ford in Pasadena, California, by a woman in her 60's as a weekend cruise car. The little old lady from Pasadena kept it garaged and enjoyed the car on weekends for years before deciding she needed to sell it and get a larger 2nd car. She took it to the original selling Ford dealer and was unhappy with the trade value that she was given towards a new vehicle. While in the showroom purchasing a new truck, a gentleman noticed the Mustang and after asking a few questions, agreed to purchase the mustang on the spot for $500 more than what they offered her on trade. The 2nd owner of this car is now 80 years old and needs to sell due to health issues. He is a well known and accomplished off road racer and he took excellent care of the mustang with proper maintenance procedures and careful storage habits. It was always detailed to a high standard, never driven in inclement weather, and stored on blocks during the winter months. Car was an MCA class winner and placed and won in other shows in both un-restored and mustang classes during his ownership.
The paint and exterior are completely original with no paintwork or bodywork having ever been performed. I would rate the paint as 8.5 or 9 out of 10 due to very minor fading on the top of the rear spoiler and front fender plastic corners, and some light swirl marks from a sub par wax job. The only thing I would have done personally is to have the car professionally waxed and buffed, or a higher level solution would be a paint correction and ceramic coating. I recommended doing this prior to selling and the owner was not willing to put any more money into the car at this time. In my opinion this would take the paint to a 10 out of 10 condition, but as is the car still looks fantastic and shines from any angle. There is nothing other than what I would consider normal wear that is present anywhere on the body or exterior of the car. There are very few chips or nicks anywhere, a couple of very light scratches, 1 small door ding in driver's door, 2 small pen sized dings in passenger rear fender. Again, the wear on this vehicle is exactly what one should expect to find on a very well maintained 27 year old all original car with low mileage. It is in overall fantastic condition.
The interior is in overall excellent condition in every area. It still smells new inside, The ashtray door and console function perfectly, the cigarette lighter has never been used, the instrument lens glass is perfectly clear,it has never even had armor all on the dash or plastics. All the instrument panel gauges and lights function properly. Ice Cold A/C and hot heat. Cruise and all power accessories work perfectly.Leather seats have minimal wear for being 27 year old original leather. The original radio will also come with the car along with all the owners manuals and associated books.
Engine, Transmission, Rear end, all suspension are original and stock untouched condition. The only things replaced were maintenance items such as belts, hoses, plug wires, battery, etc.The only modifications to this car from factory original are Borla mufflers with stock tailpipes and tips (quiet), subframe connectors, and a removable strut tower brace. That is it. Nothing else has been modified or touched in any way on this car.The car runs, shifts, brakes, handles, and overall performs just as well as any new fox mustang from 1991. Every mechanical and electrical system works perfectly on the car. There are no leaks of any kind from any location.
All VIN tags are in place. The pinch welds are perfect. The undercarriage and floor pans are clean and completely rust free with no undercoating anywhere. The quad shocks are original. The body bolts have never been turned. This car is as stock and original as I have seen for an LX car and I have been around fox bodies since the late 90's. Even the plastic factory air silencer in the inner fender is still in place. This car is right, in every way.It is rare to find a fox body this original and this car will continue to climb in value if kept maintained in its current condition. No disappointments with this vehicle. It is extremely nice and the new owner will be very pleased with the overall condition.
