1972 FORD RANCHERO ROLLING CHASSIS, TRUE 'N' CODE, ORIGINAL FACTORY BIG BLOCK 429 EQUIPPED RANCHERO. NO MOTOR OR TRANSMISSION. THE '48' IN THE VIN DESIGNATES A 'GT', THE 'N' CODES TO A 429 ENGINE. GAUGES/DOOR PANELS ARE MISSING AS IS THE REAR LONG TRIM PASSENGER SIDE BED MOLDING. WINDSHIELD HAS CRACK, HAS BED RUST-THE WORST BEING IN THE REAR SEAM AREAS BY TAILGATE WHERE THE SEAMS ARE RUSTED THROUGH, TAILGATE HAS SOME RUST THROUGH ON BOTTOM SEAM. DRIVER DOOR HAS A QUARTER SIZE RUST THROUGH HOLE ON EXTERIOR REAR BOTTOM EDGE, BOTTOM OF DOORS LOOK SOLID, AS DO FRAME RAILS, FLOORS HAVE RUST THROUGH. THE FRONT CAP IS FROM A TORINO.
P.O. STATED HIS FATHER PURCHASED THIS RANCHERO YEARS AGO AS A ROLLER, AND FRONT CAP WAS REMOVED TO PUT A 351C 2V ENGINE IN, WHICH THEN SAT FOR YEARS UNCOMPLETED, UNTIL HE PASSED. TO REITERATE, THE ENGINE INSTALLED IS NOT A 429 BUT A 2V 351C AND IT LOOKS PRIMARILY TO BE BOAT ANCHOR MATERIAL, FROZE UP FROM SITTING. THE GT HOOD IS ORIGINAL AS FAR AS I KNOW AND HAS RUST THROUGH UNDERNEATH, THE SCOOP IS SOLID. I ALSO HAVE THE HINGES. THEY ARE INCLUDED BUT I COULD NOT GET THEM TO RETRACT SO THEY WERE UNBOLTED AND IN BED BUT INCLUDED, THEY WILL LIKELY REQUIRE A GOOD SOLVENT SOAK TO LOOSEN UP.
