Car description |
---|
1965 Ford Mustang fastback. This is not a show car but a fun automobile for both vintage racing, auto crossing and street use. There are many modifications to this vehicle that have made it track sturdy and yet street-able. The engine and transmission are set back 10" towards the rear of the car creating an unbelievable center of gravity. This was done to enhance handling at the track.
The car has all of the required safety items such as an 8 point welded role cage, fuel cell, remote battery switch, six point safety harnesses, etc.
Chassis:
-Complete welded Alston racing chassis
-Heidts solid arm suspension on 2" lowered mustang II spindles
-Heidts GM front Disc brakes
-Rack and pinion steering from Flaming river
-Rear suspension is all Total Control 5 link
-Qual 1 adjustable coil over springs
-9" limited slip with 3:01 gear ratio
-Borg Warner T10 4 spd. Transmissionwith a new Dual Friction Clutch
Engine:
-351 Cleveland bored .30 over
-Solid racing cam with roller rockers with keepers.
-Edelbrock Torquer manifold
-Demon 750 CFM 4 barrel carb.
-MSD Electronic Ignition
-Holley electric fuel pump
-Jazz fuel cell
-Flexlite electric fan
-Custom headers with 3" exhaust
The car is painted the stock Shelby mustang colors for 1965 which is Wimbledon White and Lemans Blue Stripes. All stripes are painted on professionally and not decals. The car comes with a wood Shelby Steering wheel and gauges all work which are Autometer.
There is no rust on the car but there is a ding in the lower rear valance that I just did not get to replacing. Much of the car carries decals representing the vintage racing period of it's time, but they can all be removed if a cleaner look is desired. Again, the car is not a show car and has its share of wear and tear. If someone is looking for a unique car that they can take to the race track and enjoy on a cruse night this is that car.
