Car description

No ordinary roadster, this 1927 Model T Street Rod is an inspired recreation of the Model T. It's also a great performing street machine, well-crafted and well-appointed, that's been decked out with a bevy of high-caliber parts and comes complete with build sheet and photos, so its next lucky owner will have a full chronology of the process that took this car from an assortment of parts to the magnetic and capable street machine it is today.
When it comes to kit-based hot rods, the workmanship and standards of the manufacturer go a long way toward determining just how awesome (or not) the finished result is going to be. This one is based on a Spirit Industries kit, so it got a sort of head start. After more than 20 years in the business, Spirit has garnered a strong reputation for their rock-solid parts and precise workmanship - in the process kindling a demand for their products that's caused them to migrate to ever larger manufacturing facilities over the years. That precision is evident here in the look and refinement of this very cool-looking open-air roadster. It cuts a great presence on the street with its blue exterior, precisely-fitting panels, and clean chrome from its prominent exterior headlights back to the rear bumper - just one of the many custom touches on this rod. It's a great looking ride - the kind you can picture yourself pulling up to your destination in, and nodding to admiring onlookers as if to say "Yep. This one's mine."
Inside, the almond white upholstery is a perfect complement to the blue exterior. The bench seat has a great tuck and roll look, with a subtle partition between driver and passenger you don't often see. There's a surprising amount of room in the cockpit and with the tilt wheel column, it's easy to find just the right driving position. Just in front of the sparkling blue steering wheel ia full assortment of Dolphin gauges residing inside the steel blue of the dash - with their parchment-colored faces and distinctive, almost Gatsby-esque font, they're a great choice for a vintage-era roadster like this one. Just underneath, you'll find a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player that's also got satellite-radio connectivity. It's powering a custom-built speaker box under the seat, so your audio options will be well-looked after when you take this beauty out on the road.
The powerplant components here are in full view, and from the air cleaner sitting on top of the Air Gap intake manifold to the exhaust pipes running along the sides, this is an assortment of chrome definitely worth showing off. Even the firewall is decked out in chrome diamond plate. A Ford 289 V8 bored .40 over and carrying an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb, as well as a mild cam for some extra juice, provides the power for this relatively light vehicle. It's paired with a 3-speed automatic overdrive transmission, so there's plenty of high end performance here, as well. Up front sits an amply sized, custom aluminum radiator showing some seriously impressive welding work and, backed by a large oversized fan, giving you all the cooling power you'll need. Sitting with just the low, level stance you'd want, this open-air roadster features American Racing Torq Thrust wheels - with 14 inch Kumho 195/70s in front and a pair of 15 inch Nitto NT555R Extreme 325/50s in back looking like they have the grip to turn a chunk of asphalt into a diamond.
