Car description |
---|
This is an exceptionally beautiful and rare original 1940 Ford Deluxe Woodie Wagon. Woodie wagons were luxury vehicles in their day. This was Fords most expensive car in 1940. Less then 6350 Deluxe Woodies were produced.
This car is very complete original. All the wood is original and was refinished. Most of the glass still shows 1940 date codes and Ford glass logos. Paint, fenders, chrome and stainless trim are near perfect.
Interior was restored to original with 100% leather, correct stitching on seams with wool carpet added throughout. Dash and interior metal all refinished as original. Gauges were restored by US Instruments and converted to 12v with VDO movements. All work properly and speedometer is calibrated correctly. Ignition is run through column using original key and factory on/off toggle switch on original column drop.
Original 1940 steering column shifter operates TH350 automatic transmission. Small block Chevrolet is essentially stock with the addition of Corvette finned valve covers. Edelbrock Carb with Lokar throttle and trans cables.
Front suspension is a Mordrop style dropped axle with Posies leaf spring and GM disk brakes. A SoCal steering dampner was added along with Pete & Jakes Shocks.
Rear supension is a Chassis Engineering kit including mounts, leafs, and sway bar, shocks, powder coated Ford 8" rear w/ new bearings/seals and brakes. New drive shaft and u joints installed as well.
Rock Valley Stainless gas tank. Twin turbo style mufflers flow into stainless tailpipes which end in turndowns before rear bumper.
This car has many rare parts which you won't find in a clone car. Optional third seat, sunvisors, middle seat has correct re-chromed original handle, original spare tire and cover, correct rear bumper for Woodie, window slider locks, all connecting hardware for tailgate, working latches and locks, etc.
Car was gone through at the beginning of the summer with new hoses, plugs, points,, etc.
