Car description

Offered for sale is this stunning 1950 Ford Deluxe Business Coupe. Equipped from the factory with the 239ci Flathead V8, and 3-speed manual transmission, it's spent it's entire life here in West Texas. The car was sold new here in Lubbock, and we purchased it from a gentleman in Amarillo, just 120miles north. This resulted in a car that was very well preserved, and is incredibly solid and straight to this day!
The car had an older single-stage Red re-paint done, and it is gorgeous! We had it professionally color-sanded and buffed back to a glorious luster. It has it's share of little nicks and scratches, but it consistently gets compliments and attention on the road. The car has had very tasteful pinstriping done as accents around the body. These were done by a very skilled young man here in Lubbock, TX. They, combined with the other traditional modifications, elevate this car to a refined level.
The body is amazingly solid and clean. The only area where there is evidence of corrosion is a 3x10 section at the very rear of the trunk pan, this was patched over decades ago and is no longer an issue. The rockers, quarters, and floors are all clean. No frame damage, no body ripples or bondo. This car is an open book, what you see what you get.
The drivetrain is where we spent the most time and effort over the past few years. The stock engine was in great shape when we got it, and we decided to perform some period-correct performance upgrades. A set of Offenhauser Finned Aluminum Heads, Offenhauser Dual-Carb intake, Speedway Motors' 9Super7 Carburetors, and Red's Ceramic Coated Headers were installed. These greatly improved the look and performance of the engine! At that time, we also opted to alleviate one of the known problems with Flathead V8s, and installed an aluminum radiator. This, when painted all black, is barely distinguishable between the stock unit. The engine/transmission operate properly, shift great, and run down the road at speed with no problems. It leaks a bit of oil, like all Ford Flatheads do, but nothing of concern; no issues at all with this car driving anywhere!
The interior had been completely re-done at some point in the past few years. Black vinyl with Houndstooth inserts are in great condition. No tears, rips, or damage really. The driver's side door panel has the lower portion coming unglued, but I leave that up to the new owner whether to repair or replace. The dash is equally as beautifully painted as the exterior, and has matching pinstriping as well! All the gauges work, and the seats are very comfortable, even on the longest of drives.
The car has been lowered with FatMan Fabrication Drop-Spindles in the front, and drop-blocks in the rear. This work was professionally done, and then a full alignment was performed. Car handles and rides like a dream! True duals flow from the aforementioned Red's Headers and have the quintessential 50's rumble, ready for any car show or cruise!
Overall, this car is ready for your local car show, drive-in, or simply daily commute. It has been painstakingly upgraded and maintained, and has been thoroughly checked over for known faults and issues. It's not a perfect show car, there are chips, scratches, nuances, etc... But these incredibly rare Business Coupes are very highly sought after and command a devoted following. If you're still not convinced browse through the photos below and send any questions to me through eBay and I'll respond promptly.
