1950 Ford Club Coupe Custom
A very original and solid car that retains ALL of it's original metal. This Ford is an original California & Arizona vehicle, no rust issues. Pervious owner rebuilt the Flathead V8 engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension.
The paint is over 40 years old and finished in black lacquer. Shines like new, but does have lacquer cracking (smooth to the touch), makes a very cool patina. The original floor pans are in amazing condition and still wear their factory red oxide primer. I personally wipe and detail the entire bottom of the vehicle after each drive to maintain such character.
The interior was completely redone in white leather and velour and is in great condition. The car has four seatbelts installed, all of the garnish mouldings were repainted, and the dash was restored. The steering wheel is a beautiful NOS, horn works of course. All of the instrument gauges, heater, clock, and am radio work. All of the glass is in excellent condition and all weatherstripping was replaced when the interior was refinished. All of the chrome and stainless trim is is in very good original condition, only minor scratches here and there. NONE of the chrome is pitted.
The Ford still retains it's original 6 volt electrical system. However, a complete NOS wiring harness was installed, the original cloth bound type. All of the lighting works with the exemption of one interior door pillar light. I was told that a replacement socket would be required to fix, but I did not want to replace "factory original" with a non-original. The original steel wheels were powdercoated, for durability compared to paint. Included is the original style centers as well as the Cadillac wheel covers with bullet centers. Currently, the car is wearing the Cadillac wheel covers. Tires were replaced with radial whitewalls for improved handling and ride. Five in total, with the fifth being in the trunk on a powdercoated wheel as well. The car was lowered all the way around for a more custom stance. Lowering was performed by utilizing shorter springs on the front, not a cheap coil cut, andlowering blocks on the rear. The car drives very nice and smooth.
The factory optioned Overdrive works flawlessly and automatically downshifts when the accelerator is floored. This rare feature makes highway driving a much nicer experience. The Flathead V8 runs as smooth as a Singer sowing machine.
The only aftermarket modifications to the engine is an old Holley two barrel carburetor and custom headers. Exhaust is all new, true duals, with Smittys glass packs to give the perfect balance of unique Flathead sound and performance.
The car has only been driven 2300 miles the last four years, with annual maintenance, greasing, and such still performed each season. Certificate of Appraisal from Hagerty at $30,000.
THIS FORD IS TURN KEY READY TO DRIVE. ITS A MUST SEE AT CAR SHOWS AND DRIVE INNS. IT HAS BEEN PAMPERED TO SAY THE LEAST.
ALOT OF RECEIPTS OF WORK IN HAND TO GO ALONG WITH THE CAR.
