Car description |
---|
I've owned this car since May,1989. I restored it in July, 1993 as my personal ride. I had it painted the original Ford Medium Blue Metallic (Q code) exterior. It originally came with a standard Blue interior (Code BB). The car as built had a 302 2V engine, 2.79 rear axle gears, Power Steering, Power Brakes, and Power Top with an AM radio. When restored the car received a new coat of paint, new interior upholstery, new carpet, NOS Dash Pad, new driver's door, new hood, rust in the taillight panel removed, NOS Grille & Grille trim, new weatherstrip (including NOS top and A pillar weatherstrip), new front upper and lower arms, new shocks, new head gaskets & valve cover gaskets, new timing chain (Ford Motorsport double roller),rebuilt power steering pump and control valve, new radiator & hoses, new cloth top, new bumpers & new or refurbished hardware throughout. The car had only very minor rust when restored and has been rust free since then. It is an original California Car and has spent its life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
When I restored it I addedfollowing features:
Interior upgraded to Deluxe Blue Interior (Code EB)
Center Console
Blue Vinyl Shift lever from a Cougar
Power windows from a Cougar,
Sequential Tail Lights using a Cougar wiring harness (original harness and light components included in sale),
Low Fuel warning light (not hooked up),
Air Conditioning (not hooked up),
Remote Trunk Release & Trunk and door open warning lights,
Electric seat back release (works intermittently),
Intermittent Windshield Wipers,
Original Ford 1970 Boss 302 front spoiler
15/16" front roll bar, 1/2" rear roll bar from a Mach 1
14x7 1970 Mach 1 wheels & Hub caps
1970 Mach 1 rear tail light panel & pop open gas cap
NOS 1970 Rear Exhaust tips & Dual Exhaust Rear Valence
Deluxe Map Light
Deluxe Clock Delete Passenger Side Dash Bezel
Stereo Door Speakers using original blue 1970 speaker grilles
In Dash Stereo Speakers
Tilt Wheel & 3 spoke Rim Blow.
Ford C6AZ $V intake and Autolite 4100 4V Carburetor added (modeling the off the shelf option Ford provided in 1970).
Export Brace
Door sticker code was updated to reflect these changes. The axle ratio on the door sticker indicates 3.00 gears, but I never got around to changing them.
All of these changes have made the car unique and a joy to drive.
After restoring Mustangs for over 25 years it is time to let the last one go. I built the car using the best parts available 25 years ago. It has basically been a turn key car since restoration.A newexhaust system was installed about 4 years ago and it has a nice deep rumble that is noticeable, but not annoying, It quiets down nicely above 70 mph. The car gets compliments and turns heads everywhere it goes. Please note, this car was =NOT built as a Deluxe Interior Car. It was modified to that.
The only issues I know of with the car are as follows:
There is a paint scratch on the driver's side front fender (photo enclosed)
There is a small dent in the passenger side quarter panel (easily removed)
There is a small dent on the passenger door below the door handle (again easily removed)
The Convertible top is now 23 years old and while it has been garaged for almost all of time the fabric that hold the top to the center bows has torn so the top will balloon at freeway speeds if the windows are not cracked.
The transmission has a couple of fluid leaks as does the engine.
The AC does not work. I installed and original 1970 Mustang unit, but never hooked it up. It would probably need a little work to get it running as it has sat unused for 23 years.
I have a few spare parts for the car (power window & trim parts) that I will include with the sale.
Terms of Sale: Buyer need to pay $1500 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of purchase and needs to arrange payment in full and pick up of the car by July 8, 2016.
If you need the car inspected before bidding please contact me before hand to arrange access.
