Car description

SHORT DESCRIPTION: For your consideration we have for sale a good looking 1970 Mustang Fastback. Its a good Mach 1 replica with the Twister Special decals. Its power by a very strong 351 Cleveland engine, connected with a new TCI C4 automatic transmission and 9 inch rear-end. The Mach 1 interior looks good, the Bullit wheels are nice with BF Goodrich G-Force tires. The exhaust has the deep/loud Muscle car sound with Flow Master mufflers and full tube headers. I love the Shaker air cleaner!

83 PICTURES BELOW, just scroll down to see them all.

IS THIS CAR A REAL MACH 1? No, it is not! Its a good replica, it has the Mach 1 stripes, molding, seat covers and dash inserts. Its hard to tell unless you run the VIN.

IS THIS CAR A REAL TWISTER SPECIAL? No, it is not! I read that only 96 Twister Specials were made. 48 with 351 Cleveland engines and 48 with 428 engines. They would cost you lots of money. If you don't like the twister logo I can take it off no problem.

WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson, I am 69 years old. I grew up in a garage/welding shop. I was a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the Army in the late 60s, I also was a auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center. My son Keith is 43 years old, he bought his first Mustang at 13 years old and still owns it. I bought my first Mustang while working at the local Ford dealer in 1967. We love Mustangs!

VIN: OT02F159412, the title VIN does match the plate on the car.

MILES: 34036 reading today, so I would think it has another 100,000.

TITLE: Clear, good title in hand.

HISTORY: I cannot tell you much at all. We bought the car from a car restoring friend that lives near Cincinnati.

HOW IS THE PAINT? I consider it upper end driver quality. I see no dents, no dings, no rust bubbles, the body is straight when I look down the side. I see 4 or 5 touched up chips. Its a good paint job.

ANY RUST ON THE CAR? I see no rust issues. I see no rust bubbles in the paint, I see no rusty holes on the bottom, the sub frames look good and solid to me, the torque boxes look good. The bottom is fairly clean and does not have thick under coating, it is not show quality, its just a driver.

HOW IS THE CHROME? Past owner liked the blacked out look, so the chrome parts are semi-gloss black.

HOW IS THE GLASS? Side windows roll up and down decent, windshield has no milky sport or bad wiper marks. It is not new, it has some very minor marks and scuffs.

HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a very strong 351 Cleveland that previous owner said was rebuilt andhas 500HP. It is strong, but I don't think is 500HP.It hasa 4 barrell dual line Holley carburetor, MSD ignition, full tube headers, dual electric fans, high output alternator, battery in trunk. Previous owner said it has roller valve train. I hear no knocks, no rattles or see no bad blue smoke. It does have a nice cam that hits a hard lick, when cold you have to choke and warm up a little.

HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? Its a new rebuilt C4 automatic by TCI. TCI is real good stuff that holds lots of horse power.

WHAT IS THE REAR-END? Its a tuff 9 inch open rear end. It has a good highway gearing. I hear no whinnes or growls.

HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Mach 1 interior, seat covers nice, door panels nice, carpet nice, head liner good with one patched hole under the drivers sun visor, dash pad good with no cracks.

HOW IS THE EXHUST? Good conition, full tube headers with one dent in the bottom, Flow Master mufflers that have the deep and loud Muscle Car sound.

HEADLIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK!

TURNS SIGNALS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK!

SPEEDOMETER WORKS! GAS GAUGE WORKS!

WIPERS WORK! TACHOMETER WORKS!

HOW ARE THE TIRES AND WHEELS? Good BF Goodrich TA G-Froce tires mounted on 17 inch Bullit wheels.

HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? It drives good other than hard to steer parking. It is not power steering and it has tires that are much larger than the originals, so its heavy steering. To me it drives good on the road.

HOW DOES THE CAR BRAKE? Good for 4 wheel drums.

WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? Athens, Tennessee 37303.

BOTTOM LINE: We reserve the right to stop the listing at any time. This is a nice car, its not a new car, its not a perfect car. I recommend you come look it over. If your looking for a show queen to roll out of the trailer when you get to the car show get ready to pay a lot more money. If you want a good looking car to drive and enjoy this could be it. It has no warranty at all other than a good title supplied.
