Good day everyone and thank's for taking the time to peek at my wagon. It's been my labor of love to restore this ride, owever due to family and financial issues I can't finish it and it needs to go. Read to understand...I bought this wagon a few years ago with the intent of doing a quick flip after some minor repairs. One thing led to another and it became a labor of love. Well, f this part is new..so should this part...and that's how this all began. Starting from the beginning, completely took the entire wagon apart as soon as I got it to check it out. By apart I mean not a single piece of glass, o seals or any rubber, o engine, rans, nterior, r anything...just a shell with no suspension or steering even. With the body on blocks, began my process. First thing I did was cut out the old rotten floors, teel under the battery, nd spare tire area...all common rot areas on these cars. Next I noticed the dash had the also common rot around the ashtray/heater control area..so the dash was removed by cutting the side welds and drilling the spot welds along the base of the windshield. After purchasing a set of full floors from AutoKrafters, had them welded in. Additionally I found a good dash from a donor car and got it welded in as well. The spot welds were re-welded and then ground down smooth. Before the dash was re-attached, owever, ll cowl repairs were done including new steel and fiberglass work in the fresh air vent areas. The factory sealant from upper firewall to body was resealed as well. Once all new steel was put in the car, he entire floor was covered with DupliColor standard black roll inbed linerto act as a soundand heat shield. New steel was cut and welded into the areas repairing the area below the battery as well as the spare tire compartment. With all steel repaired, moved onto the underside.Since the car was a shell now, began to use a putty knife to remove the 50+ years of undercoating and road gunk all over the underneath and engine compartment. Once the undercoating was removed from the entire underside, then took a wire cup brush (actually it took 6) on my angle grinder and brushed that entire underside clean. Afterwards, t was then cleaned with a degreaser. Once dry, he entire underside was coated with Permatex spray-on undercoating to protect it for years to come. Then it came time to do the suspension and steering. I started up front and replace everything. What do I mean by everything?....I mean literally everything but the steering box because it had no play. I replaced all steering from tie rod to tie rod, ncluding idler arms and drag link and tie rod connectors. Upper control arms were replaced as were all suspension bushings, all joints, way bar end links, nd more. If it could be replaced, t was on all suspension and steering up front. Brakes are 100% new, ncluding hardware, xcept for drums, hich were blasted clean, ainted, nd then turned. Theoriginal sway bar was brushed clean as were stabilizer links on both sides and then painted prior to install. In the rear I had the axle serviced with the pumpkin gasket and fluid changed. 4 new axle bolts were used, s well as new bushings pressed into the rear leaf springs. With the wheels back on it, ow I had a rolling chassis ready for paint.Maverick Auto Body and Restoration in Greensboro, C did the paint and body work. Gary, he owner, pent countless hours making it as straight as it could get. The paint is a two stage paint job, ase coat / clear coat. The color is Code "O" from Ford, ropical Turquoise. Paint is DuPont. This alone cost me half of the Buy it Now price almost due to the bodywork spent getting the quarters, enders, nd doors straight after 50+ years of love and abuse. When the car came back from paint, t was time to get the glass and power train in.C & S Auto Restoration and Repair in Winston-Salem, C are specialists dealing with primarily 64-73 Mustangs and 60-65 Falcons. They took possession of the wagon and began reassembly of a huge amount of parts. The shop installed a new headliner (black moon crater) as well as new sun visors. A new dome light was installed, oat hooks, nd all wagon specific wind lace (padded) was installed. All glass was re-installed at this time with seals from Jeff at FalconParts out in California. In fact, 8% of all parts for this restoration were purchased from FalconParts, o if you need anything Falcon related this man either has it, nows where to send you to find it, r can break it to you easily that you have to fabricate it because it's not available at all. C&S then installed the engine and transmission. I'm sure I'm going to miss a ton of parts, ut everything was replaced except the long block. The seats are not installed in the car, ut resting in place so the carpet can be installed..which is included as well.I was restoring this car for someone to enjoy it, ot for it to sit on a pedestal and collect trophies. I'm not a professional, hich is why I had to have pro's do the majority of the work on this car. It isn't perfect by far, ut it sure is a beauty I think. It will have to have many spots touched up from parts installs, ome pro's get clumsy I guess sometimes. There are a ton more parts I already forgot to include such as a new master cylinder, hocks on all 4 corners, irewall steering column seal, nd all door seals. All rubber from front to rear is new, ncluding whitewall tires. The wheels wereoriginally13" but I changed them with a set of 14" off a 65 Ranchero.
