1983 Ford Mustang GLX Convertible 3.8 V6
This is a very nice rust free fox body that I purchased off a local elderly gentleman who was moving to Florida permanently. The previous owner would drive the car on occasion around town and to cruise nights/car shows based on his testimony. The car is bone stock with no modifications at all (excluding wheels/tires) and comes with all the original books, wner's manual, ata tag and a bunch of receipts from service work that has been performed on the car.
The car has the 3.8 V6 that runs great and an automatic transmission. This Mustang is the GLX model and is equipped with Power Steering, ower Brakes and cold Air Conditioning. The car has cruise control as an option also but it is not working at this time (unknown reason why to me).
The car runs and drives very nice and was last inspected in spring, bout 500 miles ago. This is a rust free car that has never seen a winter and very little rain. 81,500 original miles on the car. Car received new rims and tires last year, ess then 1000 miles on them, t the cost of $1200.
The top is original and showing its age (see photos) but I always drive with it down so it never bothered me. One of the hydraulic lineson the right side also leaks a little bit on the floor in the garage if the car sits for awhile. Other things with the car are: the valve covers seep a little bit and should probably be replaced and the heater core is bypassed. The car was this was when I purchased it and I never cared because I don't drive it unless the top is down and it's warm outside. Based on research I am sure it needs a heater core since it appears to be a very common problem on these fox Mustangs. The interior is nice but does have some wear on the driver seat and passenger rear seat (see photos).
The car has had some paint work done in the past that I can tell on the passenger side but the rest of the car looks pretty good to me, o clear coat on it so I assume it is probably original or at least period correct.
This is a great driver that you can have fun in the sun with, conomical on gas and just a nice driving Mustang. 1983 was the first year that Ford returned a convertible to the Mustang line since it ended making convertibles in 1973. The car is registered and insured and I do drive it about once per week as long as the sun is out. If you would like to look at the car and drive it prior to the end of the auction that is fine, ust send me a message and we can set something up. Like I said this is a very nice original car but is not perfect, t doeshave some minor dings and scratches as to be expected with a vehicle that is over 30 years old. You will not win the concours d'elegancewith this carso just have fun with it and drive it anywhere without worries.
I am only selling this car because I purchased a car that I always wanted, 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Convertible. Since I now have the Galaxie Convertible I can't justify having two convertibles nor do I have the room for it.
I have no problem working with you if you are going to have the car shipped at your expense. I understand that some shippers can be unpredictable and will do everything possible to assist you and the shipper.
