I purchased this Mustang new from Lakewood Fordland in Lakewood, olorado on January 24th, 984. I drove it for just under 7 years (mostly I-25 highway miles), efore retiring it to a corner of my shop in early 1991. Just before retirement, he engine was rebuilt at 90000 miles, standard bore, asically freshened up). Since then, t has been stored inside and under a cover, nd the gas tank was drained. It has been started occasionally with a bottle, nd fluids were changed periodically. But during the past few years, he carburetor has become increasingly problematic, rankly to the point of barely running when I last started it this week. It needs a battery. Remarkably, he brakes have never been touched by me or anybody else. They are still up and appear to be fine. Since the car has been in storage for the past 23 + years, do not presume it to be roadworthy. (See below reference tires) I will let the next owner assess the mechanical condition because I would bet that there will be interest in modifying or changing the base 2300 engine/ 4 speed transmission combination. Included in the offering is a large box of parts, ncluding new belts, witches, ngine hoses (hard to find on this application for some reason), nd a new carb kit. Hopefully, he 24 photos will attest to the car's condition. (The hatchback is not completely closed in the photos). It has never been in an accident, nd the paint is 100% original. No rust issues here. It has a few stone chips, couple of dings (that I know about but were too small to successfully photograph), nd a nick on the rear bumper cover from a shopping cart. the left rear wheel has a minor bump in it from hitting a pot hole 3 months after I bought it. (I never worried about it, ust bought a replacement wheel, ncluded in the sale). The spare tire has never been out of the car and the rear compartment is as new. Incidentally, he car is riding on it's original tires, ince I removed the wheels from the car and stored them separately since 1987 before putting them back on last week. That was just the beginning. I removed and stored the original seats, added dash, nd other wear components shortly after buying the Mustang, nd put in some replacement components from a salvage Mustang. People thought that I had lost my mind when they saw my new car with old interior components! But the result shows 31 years later. The original interior is back in place and is immaculate: the original sparkle in theupholsteryfabric is remarkable. Carpet and door panels are like new. Glass is excellent, lthough the windshield is near original and has a few minor stone chips, but no cracks). When I brought the car out of storage this week, washed the body and vacuumed the interior. I did NOT wax it, etail it or armorall any rubber or interior surfaces. What you see is what the car looked like in 1991 when I stopped driving it. Included in the auction will be all original paperwork, ncluding a copy of the manufacturer's certificate of origin (how many of these have you seen)?, nbsp;window sticker, ll dealership documentation, nd a sales brochure. This was my first new car, nd my goal was to keep it forever. Unfortunately, t this time I don't know how long forever is, ave acquired many other vehicles over the years and have decided that it is time to start downsizing. You know the story. This car is available locally, nd I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Full payment due 3 days after auction ends, lease. Buyers with low or negative history please call before bidding. I am happy to answer any questions. My phone number is 303-654-1255. Good luck and thanks for your interest!
